I’m watching Baby Steps and Mekakucity Actors. Barely any fanservice (what I remember is something regarding photos on the 5th episode) on Mekakucity so far (I have watched more or less 8 episodes).
But I’m surprised at the amount of shows this season with fanservice, yuri, incest… I hope next season is better. Some shows sound promising, like Glasslip.
Kawaisou sounded interesting, but reading about that character Sayaka made me decide to not watch it.

Animation and character designs on the Korra series, (speacilly character designs) have improved compared to the Aang series.

Some classics and popular series.
I’m watching Acchi Kocchi too. I began watching it in 2012, but I haven’t watched it continuously. Well, at least the main girl is adorable. The vulgar elements are minimum. Something I find surprising is how supportive of the main couple the other characters are. Is more common is having the other girls trying to win the male protagonist and fighting with the main girl.
KnK, I think that is a show that displays part of the 2013 downfall of KyoAni. It was presented after that fujoshi bait series Free (ugh, and there is a new season of that series). The main girl is cute, but they added unnecessary or unfunny elements, like the character attracted to his sister, the overdone focus on the glasses fetish of the male protagonist, and some fanservice here are there. Ah, and they even managed to include a older woman kissing a girl (but it was some sort of magic spell) I guess they were trying to include lots of pandering in one show.
I liked the character designs. Is a good development of the K-On! style. And the main girl is adorable.
I began Escha to Logy no Atelier, how it is?
Mirai Nikki is famous. I didn’t watched more than one episode. The main girl was somewhat of a sensation back in 2012. It seems to have a sex scene.
Photo Kano. I skipped that one last year, looks like a typical fanservice show.
I’m watching older series, and waiting for some of the next season shows.

Chaika is also my favourite. There is a season 2.
Black Bullet would be good if it just did not have so many little girl deaths. The writer obviously has an obsession with that. It’s a pity as it’s such a cheap gimmick.
Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka is an excellent show. Some may not like it because one of the characters has an unrequited crush on another, they’re both girls. The show is also a bit of a gag/satire show along the lines of Azumanga Daioh and A Channel.

The premise is that one can play a game (if one is selected) and the winner of this card game, where one plays with human like avatars of the cards, gets their wish granted, while the loser, forever loses the ability to play the game. There is however a twist. The winner doesn’t actually get their wish granted, and the loser gets something else besides not being able to ever play the game and lose their friendship with the avatar. The alternatives are pretty dark. But all in all the story may teach a positive moral message in that in seeking own goals above all else one may harm people and one’s end result may actually be very bad.

I saw the only the first episode of Black Bullet. But I dropped the series. I didn’t liked the behavior of the main little girl. Also, I was somewhat expecting what you mention about the deaths of little girls.
About the third one you mention, it seems that what I was reading in some sites was correct then. It’s a shame, because I usually like slice of life shows.

I saw a few segments of it and it was already enough to send my Moe-Meter rocketing past Pluto. Can’t say I remember the last time I was this badly sold just on that factor alone. Tamako Market was only a close second.
I can’t say. I just saw this in Animax and got curious about how the relationship develops between the two leads. They just seem to give me this whole Kirito x Asuna romance vibe all over again.
It’s really just what you’d expect from anime that’s following a J-RPG point by point. It’s not bad. I’m just saying you can literally spot the segments where they replaced gameplay with some fight and montage scenes. Broken item? Let’s show them putting them loots together. Boss fight? Here’s a more animated take on it.

This might come as a shock but I actually despise yanderes. Some of my friends though just seem obsessed with this one that I just got curious. May just read the manga instead but I just want to know what is up with this Yuno.character.
They say it’s the spiritual successor of Amagami. I’m no so hung up on fanservice anymore (for some really personal reasons). There’s just something impressive about how it (and Photo Kano) capture the female form in anime. It’s not just sexual. It’s more ‘fleshed out’ compared to what I’ve seen at times.

It’s very mild stuff. And it’s a gimmick. They obviously wanted an element of someone liking someone else including keeping up pretenses which go with that for comedy that can bring, and they didn’t want to intro a male character to break up this group. It’s all very mild stuff and entirely one sided and I need not be sexual at all. Why not see a few episodes and see what you think?

Indirect. I don’t want to spoil it but it’s not direct brother/sister type thing but something happens to winning and losing players and their avatars. That can lead to normal type attractions to become well abnormal even though they may not be intended as such.MAY have some incest scenes?

I don’t know about SAO, but this couple is a bit uncommon and at various times, frustrating. It would have been a better series if the elements I mentioned were removed, and they barely (if any) have something to do with the plot (because adding to the plot is a common justification).

Yes, there was a obsession on that character a couple of years ago. She has become an archetype or stereotype of yanderes for lots of people.
Still, I think the presence of these things in anime is unnecessary and dangerous.

Well, I don’t think things used for gimmick purpose in a contrived fashion are necessarily unacceptable. The whole story is contrived and unrealistic anyway, as is 99% of the anime out there, so a bit more of that for the sake of comedy isn’t bad. It’s not as though one is watching pornography or something.
Would you watch a James Bond movie, knowing that he has extra-marital sex with at least one woman in the film? It’s the same thing, in fact it’s not even that, as James Bond usually has a fair bit of nudity, here we get a gimmick to get someone embarrassed and act in a particular way with all the humour which follows, but there’s no sexual stuff.
One should not set higher moral standards for anime, IMO. After all even many TV ads almost all sitcoms and mainstream films, have elements of sexual appeal which also makes them, strictly speaking unacceptable.
And it’s also not as if the show is some sort of attempt to support same-sex relationships.

They don’t want to include a guy is the most likely reason. There are no guys otherwise in the show. They do want to add the sort of humour which comes from crushes in though. As that provides plenty of opportunities for humour. The show does not have an agenda of promoting same sex relationships. And so far, no other character knows that this particular character has a crush on another one (including the girl who is the admired, while the one doing the admiring is not thinking of her with “sex” in mind). Note that there is nothing vulgar there either, no sexual innuendo or such, at least not in the first 5 episodes that I’ve seen. I think it’s innocent. One has to see it in the context of the writer wanting to have only 5 close girls as the cast even though there is a bartending father (who hardly appears) and a fluffy creature which is an adult too, judging by his voice.
“Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?” is not vulgar though. And the vast majority of Western programming, strictly speaking has things in it which are sinful including non-vulgar shows. Characters lie. They have extramarital sex or sexual relations. There is envy. Sometimes people dress provocatively and so on. People use birth control pills. People watch porn. Etc.

I would say that the mere presence of such a character could count as promotion… but I’m not sure if that was on the mind of the writer.
Is the topic (similar depictions of that behavior) mentioned in moral theology manuals? That would be interesting to know.
Yes, that show doesn’t look vulgar. I mentioned vulgar western productions since you brought these in the other reply.
The case of depictions of sinful actions is an interesting one. One way to look at it, is to analyze how these are portrayed. Are they glorifying them? there is an edifying message? what purpose they have? what is allowed, what about guidelines? I have been thinking about that in recent months, and not only from a viewer point, but from a writer/artist one.
Also, some of the things you mention are still seen as bad by various people… but is not the same with homosexuality, a “special” thing for lots of people.
