I tend to think it is better to have Christianity “forced” on people than unChristianity (Nazi’sim, Stalinism…)
Which has nothing to do with the joyful hatred expressed by Ms. Coulter.

funny how the Dem party has draft dodgers, adulterers, supporters of porn, abortionists, terrorist supporters, etc…
Yeah, they don’t exist in the GOP at all.

Mark Sanford’s affair in Buenos Aires

But I suppose we can ignore that since he’s against abortion and gay marriage, like Larry Craig.

But there’s a good solid Catholic as the chairman for the RNC, Michael Steele. Catholic, GOP, obviously against abortion.
Just a snip of it though
Are you saying you think women have the right to choose abortion?
Yeah. I mean, again, I think that’s an individual choice.

Yep, sounds anti-abortion to me.

ontheissues.org/senate/john_Mccain_abortion.htm
n “Meet the Press,” McCain said he had “come to the conclusion that the exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother are legitimate exceptions”

You’ll call me a liberal, because I suppose it’s impossible for a conservative to point out problems in their own party.
There’s just a lot of liberal bashing going on, and throwing that term out as an insult to people. Why not point out the problems in your own party.

Lynn-D what happened to you?

Helloooooooooooo??

Any intelligent life out there?? HEllllllloooooooooooooooooooo???

Ok, then, Beam me up, Scotty… 😃

I was under the impression that this forum was about Ann Coulter but since there were 17 pages I didn’t take the time to read all of them – also noticed that many comments were about Ted Kennedy.
My thoughts are about Ann Coulter – I seem to recall that years ago after 9/11 she wrote a book (can’t remember the name of it) about the World Trade Center. I started reading the book but after several times on her part she mentioned that some of the widows of the firemen who were killed were probably happy because it meant that they received a lot of money, I got disgusted and threw the book away.
I was married to a fireman and while he fought many fires none of them were like the World Trade Center. Also I know someone who lives in New York and every fireman in the firehouse that would take care of where she lived was killed in 9/11. While I watch the news on TV I got to the point after 9/11 I just couldn’t take it any more – I would NEVER, EVER read a book by Ann Coulter again!!!
I think you missed her point, but if you don’t like, don’t read.

And Nick, the problem with Republicans is that they are Democrat wannabes. There is already a party with abortion-on-demand in its party platform; why would the Republicans want to obliterate any difference between the two?

I have no idea, but they need to grow a spine.

for sure…

but if they are democratic wannabes… they aren’t Republicans…

even J McCain has a spine-less attitude about abortion… IF it is murder, it is murder even if the child was conceived under less than perfect circumstances…

weanies… I’m surrounded by weanies…🤷

.

Here’s some:

.

**I know Jesus Christ died for my sins, and that’s all I really need to know. 🙂

If we’re so cruel to minorities, why do they keep coming here? Why aren’t they sneaking across the Mexican border to make their way to the Taliban?

If John Kerry had a dollar for every time he bragged about serving in Vietnam - oh wait, he does. 😃

Liberals are stalwart defenders of civil liberties - provided we’re only talking about criminals.

The Democrats have no actual policy proposals of their own unless constant carping counts as a policy**

So… you are just ignore the posts that disagree with your assertion that Ann Coulter style of communication laudable?

Thanks for finding some of these lovely reflections of the ‘Christian’ way in which this women communicates - it is an embarrassment to women, to people of faith, to Americans. 👍

weanies… I’m surrounded by weanies…🤷
And you have made it clear, Ellen, that you do not care for that part of the anatomy and that you prefer women, and specifically Ann–whom I’m sure does not return your ardor.

**And this is one of the MOST frustrating things **- I think that people reading such obsenity will think this is how all Americans think - or when someone on a Catholic Answer site defends such vile communication, other Catholics, non-Catholics, non-Christians will think this is the way all Catholics think… it doesn’t speak well for our country or our faith.

Well it wouldn’t be controversial if everyone agreed with it. I think her style of verbal bomb-throwing appeals to people who feel, rightly or wrongly, oppressed by liberal political correctness in the media, schools, polite society, etc. But it’s characteristic of her to go beyond the pale and for the jugular.

She’s not seen as a standard-bearer of anything but the most “ideologically pure” form of conservatism, and a somewhat one-dimensional, cable-news-ready version of it at that.

***Unfortunately, **her books, and her cable news commentary don’t come with a disclaimer - ‘don’t take this seriously - this isn’t really how American Christians believe we should be represented’ *

But then we do have the pure example of American Christian, er hmm ‘Catholic’ like those who might well be the proper example of the Catholic Faith such as Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry, Reid, and so on. And might we be better Catholics if we give out awards to those who not only advocate for abortion but provide the funding under government auspices to pay for them.
Oh dear where did I ever get the idea that perhaps I might be wrong if I do not follow their example and become a proper Catholic liberal hypocrite.

Oh, I thought this thread was a discussion on Ann Coulter, not on Catholics in public life… that might be a good thread you may want to start - this is on the Popular Media thread - and this is what we were talking about… let me know if you start the other one. 👍

She’s so far to the right, she’s on the shoulder and very close to the ditch!! The hatred just oozes from her! She’s in my prayers…(I promise I’ll try) :getholy:
