Why does being liberal or conservative affect anything that’s being said about Coulter’s ways? I don’t have to be on one side or the other to point out that what she is doing is WRONG.
He missed Lincoln, because its tough to call Lincoln a conservative or a liberal; his preoccupation was really with winning the Civil War and ending slavery. If one believes that Roosevelt-Roosevelt-Truman-Kennedy-Johnson style liberalism is good, they aren’t very likely to count Ronald Reagan as a great president. And, his list was not exclusively Republican or Democrat, as Teddy Roosevelt, while a liberal and a Progressive (and a Bull-Moose), was also a Republican.Oh, did you puposely leave out the great presidents such as Lincoln and Reagan who happened to be Republicans?
I did overlook Mr. Lincoln and for that I apologize. One of my favorite Presidents. Every single day of his Presidency was unparalleled crisis while he had to deal with an unbalanced wife, the death of his son, and his own chronic depression. Truly what a man. Oh, and a progressive by the political standards of his time.Oh, did you puposely leave out the great presidents such as Lincoln and Reagan who happened to be Republicans?
It’s immaterial to me how you feel about abortions or whether you respond to anyone’s posts. That’s entirely up to you.good question…
if you believe in abortion, i won’t respond to your posts any more… i don’t deal with those who believe its OK to kill a defenseless helpless child in its mother’s womb… there because of HEr and the man she slept with… totally innocent…
if it weren’t for the issue of abortion i wouldn’t be so … “not lukewarm” about liberals…
No, I’m unwilling to take on a label which can mean a lot of things.are you afraid to admit you’re a liberal??
it’s a free country. She can say what she wants… If you don’t like it, you don’t have to listen…Has she ever repented for her abominable remarks? Has she explained that she was speaking irrationally out of her grief and anger, and that in a cooler moment she recognizes that what she said was indefensible?
Edwin
shows what you know….
The fact that you are so obsessed with the label “liberal” is itself evidence for the amoral effect of Ms. Coulter on your thinking. Edwin
well, seems to me that if someone were really THAT pro-life, it wouldn’t take 50 posts on an Ann Coulter thread to convicne someone…It’s immaterial to me how you feel about abortions or whether you respond to anyone’s posts. That’s entirely up to you.
No, I do not “believe” in abortion (any more than I “believe” in racism and poverty, i.e. that they do exist.) I’ve never advised any family member or friend to have an abortion, never taken a woman to a clinic to procure an abortion, and I would advise a woman who asked me for it to seek more humane alternatives. And whether you agree or disagree with me on that is also quite immaterial.
gee, you don’t believe in contradicting yourself, do you?Fine then. Distracted, I don’t want to EVER see you post about being upset by ANY comment any person makes, no matter how terrible it is. Since you think that people are entitled to say whatever they want.
.
Abortion doesn’t really have to do with any of this debate. Saying stupid, uncharitable and un-Christian things are. Where do you get the idea that, because someone can’t stan Ann Coulter, that they promote abortion?well, seems to me that if someone were really THAT pro-life, it wouldn’t take 50 posts on an Ann Coulter thread to convicne someone…
just hope you are not - in any OTHER way promoting abortion…
Even mere Apathy about abortion promotes abortion…
Dear Reagan (hopefully in Heaven but even if in Purgatory): Please come to us and help us in our time of need… whisper some words of wisdom in BHO’s ear…I
As for Reagan. My mother taught me that if one can’t say anything nice…![]()
Jesus:Abortion doesn’t really have to do with any of this debate. Saying stupid, uncharitable and un-Christian things are. Where do you get the idea that, because someone can’t stan Ann Coulter, that they promote abortion?
well, we can certainly tell YOU have a lot of charity in your heart…I think the thing that is dividing us is that, yes, we agree with Ann Coulter on abortion. It’s a terrible thing to do. Probably the most awful thing ever created.
But there’s a right way and a wrong way on standing up against it. Coulter’s hatred only inspires bickering and more hatred. There’s better ways to defend the unborn instead of blowing smoke. Her ways only create an even bigger wedge, a wedge that needs to be removed before any real change can be made.
I hope you can see our point, that Coulter is only doing the rest of us who share her beliefs a huge disservice.
But please don’t hide behind the whole, ‘It’s just humor,’ excuse. If someone attacked you and your family, but hid behind the “humor” label, it wouldn’t excuse anything. Even in humor, it’s possible for things to still be reprehensible, and a bad representation of a Christian. And if she truly wants to be Christlike, she wouldn’t make statements that intentionally antagonize people, EVEN IF the other side is doing it. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
And distracted, am I liberal? I despise abortions, no matter the reasoning. I stand firmly against the death penalty, I think the Iraq War was a bad decision, I stand against homosexual marriage, i wouldn’t raise a stink if marijuana was legalized, and I can’t stand Rush Limbaugh, Alan Colmes, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Keith Olbermann, Bill O’Reilly, and Ann. Your call.
The fact you are a celtics fan is more than enough to let us know you follow evil incarnate!Abortion doesn’t really have to do with any of this debate. Saying stupid, uncharitable and un-Christian things are. Where do you get the idea that, because someone can’t stan Ann Coulter, that they promote abortion?
Where do you get the idea that, because someone can’t stan [sic] Ann Coulter, that they are any more charitable than [you say] Ann Coulter is?. Where do you get the idea that, because someone can’t stan Ann Coulter, that they promote abortion?
But Ann Coulter is against Jesus on many grounds. It just happens that abortion is not one of them!Jesus:
Whoever is not against us is for us.
No one got this idea. You’re not being logical. No one is claiming to be more charitable than Ann Coulter, in the first place (our charity is not the point under discussion–I will let God decide whether I’m as uncharitable as Ann Coulter, though certainly one of my goals is not to be like her in that respect). And in the second place, “not standing Ann Coulter” is not in itself a sign of any virtue. There are plenty of vicious as well as virtuous reasons to dislike her. However, admiring the vicious things Ann Coulter says *is *a sign of poor judgment at the very least.Where do you get the idea that, because someone can’t stan [sic] Ann Coulter, that they are any more charitable than [you say] Ann Coulter is?
