Umm…I am not taking the bait! This thread is not about the usual Catholic / Protestant stuff. Sorry.Seven books of the Bible were “chucked” by Protestants.

From those of bi-sexual orientation I have known, who have “played the field” so to speak, do not “switch off”…one date male and one date female. They tend to “date” either the same sex or opposite sex for long periods of time. If a bi-sexual person chooses to have a relationship with a person of the opposite sex and then decide to marry…with sufficient commitment to that marriage…they stay in a heterosexual relationship…they may have feelings for the same sex…but they are in a commited marriage. Then, pray tell, what is the purpose of this sentence?
Are not feelings of lust, feelings of lust? If you’re married, and those feelings sprout up regarding someone you aren’t married to, you quash them. End of story. You know, forsaking all others, and all that.
What’s remarkable about it? It’s called committment.
If it is I’m SOOO buying it (and I rarely, if ever, buy books)Amen.
Will Rice’s next book be titled ‘Bill and Ted The Vampires Excellent Adventures Against The Mean Ol’ Catholic Church?’
Can’t prove that it isn’t someboy’s nice idea. But I do know some things…in random orderHow do you know that what you believe isn’t someone’s “nice ideas” as well? Are you asking about “gnosis” as in “know inwardly” or “know” as in “fact based knowledge”?

If I am to be wrong, I will gladly be wrong holding to a faith that shares the above attributes as opposed to a faith that is a nice idea to my way of thinking./
- It is not as a result of what my culture wants me to believe. Many times it is against the culture.
- It is not self-originated (what I want to believe). Many times it is what I would prefer not to believe.
- It is not based on my feelings and what feels good to me. It is based on claims of objective truth. Sometimes I may not like these claims. Nevertheless, the claims remain.
- It has been passed on to me through the generations. It is not a nice new invention.
- It is based on a historical person who claimed to be God. I believe His claims.
- It is recorded in a book that claims to be inspired by God. I believe those claims.
- It has not changed through the generations based on the shifting mores of society and culture.
- Martyrs and saints have shed their blood throughout the generations for holding to this faith counter to the culture which they live in.
Then stop trolling by claiming that Protestant beliefs that have always been held by Christians. Do you think you’re going to get a pass on something that as a matter of historical fact simply isn’t true? :hypno:Umm…I am not taking the bait! Like artificial contraception - universally condemned as sinful by all Protestant denominations less than eighty years ago? What Protestant denomination has the same teaching today?
- It has not changed through the generations based on the shifting mores of society and culture.
I didn’t know that science, psychology, sociology, and the humanities led directly to liberal Quakerism.Yes, while I understand the anguish you must face when your beliefs are not supported in a secular society…or science…or psychology…or sociology…or the humanities…you still have your civil rights protected…you aren’t always able to deny civil rights to the “lepers”…and that must cause great difficulty…sorry…I don’t do sarcasm well.![]()
They don’t…the humanities are another vehicle of determining Truth.I didn’t know that science, psychology, sociology, and the humanities led directly to liberal Quakerism.
I bet she does speak your mind, not only in what OP says, but also in her novels she writes all of vampires and blood suckers. She certainly speaks my mind.![]()
Are you implying that people that read her books or read books about vampires are less Christian than people that don’t read such material?I bet she does speak your mind, not only in what OP says, but also in her novels she writes all of vampires and blood suckers.
I do pray that some sense prevails in both your minds and you see Jesus as He is and not as what you have made Him to be.
You are personally attacking me by calling me a troll when I have been here several months. Then stop trolling
Perhaps I do owe you an apology, and I am sorry. The reason why I have said what I have said is that, analytical it may be, but the words are still rather hurtful. You understand that she is calling for attention. There is no mistake in that. However, why she is calling for attention is something you have not considered.Tiffany, I think you are being a bit judgmental - think about it. The observation I have made about Anne Rice’s declaration on Facebook cannot be interpreted as critical. No it is a valid observation - it is an analysis. Why declare it on Facebook? Why? And why should my observation be construed as critical?
Peace to you friend.I bet she does speak your mind, not only in what OP says, but also in her novels she writes all of vampires and blood suckers.
I do pray that some sense prevails in both your minds and you see Jesus as He is and not as what you have made Him to be.
I’m sorry, and I don’t mean to be rude, but the way you stated your opinion is totally unacceptable. This isn’t to say that you shouldn’t be able to state such an opinion here, but you could have done it in a more appropriate way, and, for that, I think you should apologize to the people here. We are here to state our opinions and make friends, not launch a mud-slinging campaign.Amen.

Lies? No. My experience.More lies about both the Church and conservatism.
My prayer is that at least some people will see these blatant lies for what they are.
That is out of line.I bet she does speak your mind, not only in what OP says, but also in her novels she writes all of vampires and blood suckers.
I do pray that some sense prevails in both your minds and you see Jesus as He is and not as what you have made Him to be.
