I love it! Is it available nationally? My bumper sticker shows an ultrasound picture and the caption is “Woman, behold your Son!”

There’s a great symbol of a fish eating one of those evolving Darwin fish. It’s great two-fold because not only does it show the superiourity of Christianity, but, it also uses the theory of Survival of the Fittest.Say a prayer for whoever was driving the car and/or put the bumper sticker on it!
I used to get very angry when I saw the “Darwin” symbol on cars – you know, like the Christian fish symbol with feet. Then I realized how misled these people are and started to turn my anger into sadness and compassion and pray for them.
That’s an old one. Fact is, we don’t trust her with a child. If we did there would be no laws on the books regarding parental abuse or negligence of children. In fact, all law is law against choices.I was just behind a woman on the high way with a bumper sticker that read “If you don’t trust me with a choice, why would you trust me with a child?”
It may be an old quote, but I sure haven’t seen that bumper sticker before. That’s an old one. Fact is, we don’t trust her with a child. If we did there would be no laws on the books regarding parental abuse or negligence of children. In fact, all law is law against choices.
Now, my answer may not be strictly logical, but it’s more logical than the bumper sticker.
But don’t you think it was easy because people are not as well educated as they used to be? When my mom was in school she had to take logic, apologetics and such. If students aren’t being taught to think, they’ll believe anything that sounds good to them. —KCTVery true. One of the most brilliant things about the pro-death crowd was turning this moral issue into one about choice, women’s rights, or medical privacy. It’s an ace up the sleeve of people who are morally and intellectually shallow.
I think you’re right. People are being taught to look to their feelings instead of higher values. Not much of an antidote to this–just listening to feelings is more comfortable than submitting to higher values (i.e. God’s law overrides my whims), growing up, and doing what is right even if they dont’ feel like it.But don’t you think it was easy because people are not as well educated as they used to be? The problem with logic and reason is the can easily argue for both right or wrong, good or bad, one choice or another, even for evils. Our society is losing its ability to make moral decisions, in large part because feelings have overtaken values (or, feelings have become our values).I once got into a rather heated argument with a relative over abortion and choice. She told me to justify that a fetus was a life. I did my best, but I’m no apologist, at least, not a very good one.
I said, “Do you think reproduction is necessary to maintain humanity on earth?”
“Of course,” she said. “Except for cloning. That’ll take a while.”
“You’re a Darwinist, aren’t you? Survival of the species is the primary goal?”
“Yes. WHat does that have to do with it?”
“How does the species survive without children?”
“Hey, I’m not saying that we don’t need some children. We don’t need overpopulation, either.”
“Overpopulation is a problem that takes care of itself, if it exists. Don’t let’s get sidetracked. What you’re saying is that too many children is a bad thing, but some children is a good thing?”
“All things in moderation, y’know.”
“So where exactly do you draw the line between “good thing” and “bad thing?””
“This isn’t answering my argument. Prove to me that a fetus is a life.”
“Okay, okay. I’m getting there. A fetus, let’s call it that for now, is the future of a life. It is part of the next generation that ensures survival of the species. It’s a good thing, right?”
“There are plenty of fetuses–”
“But since overpopulated planets cannot produce enough food for the population, the population diminishes through starvation. It’s a natural pruning process, according to Darwin. If there isn’t enough to support a fetus, the fetus will die, miscarry or whatever. There’s no need for a woman to decide there’s not enough food to go around and kill her fetus to help out, right? It’s a problem that takes care of itself.”
“But what if the woman just doesn’t want a kid? Say she got raped.”
“You could say the child is a constant reminder of the attack, but i don’t think so. I think the child is a saving grace granted to the mother. She has someone to love, someone to be loved by, someone who trusts her implicitly and entirely.”
“I had a friend whose career got torpedoed like that.”
“What’s a career next to survival of the species? THat’s the most important thing, right?”
“#&^@#$)(#@%(#^$)(#@%*@#($^#$5!@%!@!!!”
That was where the discussion ended. Maybe I didn’t answer the question. Is there any way I could have, without using Darwin? I know this is sort of off topic, but the whole thing started when this relative saw my CHevy with the pro-life bumper sticker and called me on it.
They always pull that rape arguement out like a rabbit from a hat. I’ve read that less than 1/10 of 1% of rapes result in a pregnancy. So it’s an extremely weak arguement, at best.“But what if the woman just doesn’t want a kid? Say she got raped.”
hahaha! That’s great!I have a plan ol’ Catholic Radio sticker on my car. But my favorite comes from a shirt that I saw:
Stop complaining: my 8 children will be paying for your Social Security.
In Christ,
DJ
We also have the Pope John Paul II sticker, though it hasn’t been torn off. So was it torn off by an angry pro-abortionist? It just goes to show you what types of people they are! That’s great!
We used to have one that said “Abortion: the most unjust execution - Pope John Paul II” but it got torn off. Now we have one that says “It is a poverty that a child should die so you may live as you choose - Mother Theresa”.
This really needs to go to a thread all of its own.i dont really see killing a fetus as comitting murder-i mean the fetus has the potential to be life-same as a skin cell could theoretically create a new human from its dna. There are thousands of eggs and sperm destroyed all the time-whats the differance with a fetus, all it is, is a little older. I believe woman should have the choice to abort or not.
I was thinking a question, if you knew a fetus was going to be born and then die soon after would u be more leniant on aborting it or not?
That’s nice, but it doesn’t make much headway with the pro-aborts, because they don’t buy into your premise that it’s murder to begin with. You must first convince them of the humanity of the “fetus.”, I love the series that I had taken on Catholic Moral Theology, because it has allowed me to see through all the confusing “muck” out there that is trying to convince us that good is evil, and evil is good.
In fact, you can’t be both Catholic and Pro-Choice.Get some good pro-life bumper stickers to combat those bad pro-death ones!

**You noticed that too??? I thought I was the only one! That kind of nonsense should be illegal, it’s the equivolant to brainwashing - subliminal messages. **And that “War on Choice!” on Gilmore Girls. Irritates me to no end. Actually keeps me from watching the show. Propaganda everywhere.
