Well, that’s good. I totally support homeschooling, and my opinion is just that of some lady on the internet, so 🤷

Can you at least do me a favor and never call him “Anny?” 😛

😃
It’s a deal. No “Anny” from me. I think when he gets old enough he can choose what he wants to be called…I’m kinda leaning toward Jude myself. Just had to make the husband happy.

my thoughts, name by name:

Isabella Fleur: It’s a nice name, but you said that you are going for names “that are more unique and not overused.” This being the case, you should take into consideration that Isabella has recently become very popular in the English-speaking world. In the US, it has been either the most popular or second most popular names for baby girls for the past five years.
Savannah Maia: Savannah sounds bright and cheerful. Maia is a wonderful name and I think that the two go well together.
Blair Giselle: I can see while people like these names, but I don’t, Giselle in particular because I always got the feeling that it was trying to hard to sound pretty.
Cedric Sebastian: These are very noble names. I really like them . . . separately. Having two “S” sounds in a row bugs me. If the middle names for this one and the next one were switched, I no issues with either Cedric Luke or Alexander Sebastian (although that might be a bit long.)
Alexander Luke: Nothing special, but nothing wrong.
Xavier Vincent: Xavier is a automatic epic win and Vincent complements it well
Grrr!

What irks me is that I liked the name Isabella way before it became popularized by Twilight. But you’re right, I better stay away from it now that every other person is naming their kid that. 😦

I like the name Sarena too, so perhaps I’ll add that to the list and kick Isabella out.

Does anyone have any ideas for middle names for Serena??

I also like the name “Arthur” for guys, but didn’t put it on the list. Thoughts?

I also liked Isabella before the Twilight series. I plan on naming a daughter that several years from now…just to let the hype around the name die down.

Serena Leigh maybe?

That’s pretty good.

I was also thinking Serena Arianne? Or is that too weird?

A couple people here mentioned using saint names. I don’t really care whether or not my kid has a saint name. I just care what it sounds like and how unique it is.

Serena Arianne is gorgeous and melodious.
I’m going to try to suggest some other middle names, but I doubt they will go as well with Serena as Arianne does, and they might be a little weird.

Christabel, Dawn, Giulietta (or Julietta), Laurel, Margot (or Margaux), Mehetabel, Renata, Rohesia.

That’s not my best list of names ever, but it’s what I can think of right now. Sorry.:o

Now, Arthur. The name Arthur, as a kingly name, gives me an impression of wisdom, power and self-control. These are my best shot at the middle name.

Crispin, David, Jeremy, Joshua, Nathaniel, Obadiah, Remiel, Reynard, Valentine, Zacharias.

Oooh, I like your taste!!

Serena Christabel sounds really really pretty. And I like Arthur Valentine.

Thank you, you’re really good at this! 👍

If I may ask, what are a few of your favorite baby names? You have really good taste.

My son desperately wants any future boy in our family to be named Arthur. Or Thomas. Or maybe even Percy…

Arthur takes the cake for sure!

Thomas is my little bro’s name… not a bad name, just too common for my taste. Nothing special.

As for Percy… well, it reminds me of prissy. It’s such a girly name! Lol.

I am a mother of three and I like unusual names as well. I also go for three names instead of two. It’s just my thing, I guess. Their names are:

Jadis Autumn Grace- Jadis is from “The Chronicles Of Narnia”. Autumn is the season she was born. Grace is in tribute to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Adora Giovanni Maria- Adora is from the 80s cartoon “She-Ra”. Giovanni Maria was the name of Blessed Pope Pius IX.

Anakin Jude Benedict- Anakin is from “Star Wars”. Jude and Benedict are both from the saints.
oh my goodness, when I was little I was dying to name a boy Anakin. I’ve never met someone that did it.

Yes, well he’s a big fan of PBS as you can tell. But he doesn’t like the name George. Can’t name babies after monkeys!

(Apparently only trains or anthropomorphic aardvarks)

Oh! Haha, Thomas the Tank Engine!!! 😃

The “thinking of names when not pregnant” vibe reminded me of when my bride and I were either newly married or maybe engaged and we would do the same thing. It remined me of a time when, while going through the lists of possibles, I said, “What about Sam?” Wife: “For a boy or a girl?” Me: Either one. W: No, don’t like it! 😃

How about Immaculee’ for a girl? Honors the Blessed Mother and reminds one of Immaculee Ilibagiza, who has an amazing story, and certainly not commonplace. The Social Security website has lists of most popular names by year, if you are interested.

If you have Irish ancestry, how about Declan for a boy?

If and when I have children, my plan is to use the name of (or a variant of a name of) relative as the first name and a more exotic saint name as the middle name. Much of this will depend on whom I marry (if I ever do marry). The first names will run thusly:

Sons: Husband’s father, my father (His name is Carlo, so I’ll use Charles), his brothers in order of their birth (should he have any), his sisters in order of their birth (should he have any), my sister (Adrianna and Julianna, so I’ll use Adrian and either Julien or Julius), his mother, my mother (Barbara, so I’ll use Barnabas), him, me (Giovanna, so I’ll use John).

Daughters: My mother (I’ll use Barbara), his mother, my sisters (I’ll use Adrienne and Julia), his sisters in order of birth (should he have any), his brothers in order of birth (should he have any), my father (I’ll use either Caroline or Carlotta), his father, me (I’ll use Joan), him.

But that’s not the part your actually interested in. Male middle names will include Ambrose, Athanasius, Balthasar, Blaise, Corbinian, Cyril, Eleutherius, Evrard, Irenaeus, Joachim, Micaiah, Molokai, Nicodemus and Titus. Female middle names will include Annunziata, Bartolomea, Bernadette, Clothilde, Cornelia, Dorothea, Emmanuelle, Januaria, Mechthild, Miriam, Perpetua, Raphaella, Richeldis, Sophronia and Theresa.

Well…pleased to meet you.
you too. I wanted a boy named anakin and a girl named amidala (I know that’s not her first name, but I’ve always thought it was pretty). I might use one or the other as a middle name one day.

I liked Isabella and Alexander.

My wife and I always discuss baby names if she is pregnant or not! We always have.

So far we have a Madeline Marie, Sophie Ann, and Clara Jolene.
New baby is on the way and is a boy! So we will see!

I actually have three baby names picked out for my future children. My last two were a year apart…and with no b/c I could get pregnant again at any time…

Marisa Bianca Rose
Isabella Vera Lilyin
Soren Constantine Leo

I like unusual names…but not too crazy ones. I also like saint names and make sure there is one in every name. I like to find out the meanings behind the names as well.

I always thought Amidala sounded prettier than Padme.
