Did you check into Elmhurst?
I don’t know what they’re income is, but if they’re renting at a reasonable rate right now, Elmhurst is DEFINITELY not the place to look for affordable housing (unless it is on the west side of Rt 83). Lombard is nice and a little more reasonable. Same with parts of Villa Park, Itasca, Schaumburg, Buffalo Grove, Brookfield, Orland Park, etc. I haven’t even seen a listing for homes less than $300,000 in Elmhurst (that includes townhomes). But then again, I’m not a realtor.Did you check into Elmhurst?
83 does run north south. It is the western border (except for a little bit) of Elmhurst. Perhaps you are thinking of 38. That runs east/west and crosses the south side of Elmhurst.BTW - there is no west side of 83. 83 runs east and west. You meant to say North side of 83?
You don’t necessarily need a realtor doing this for you. My fiance and I just bought a house from a couple–realtors never even entered the picture. You have to do your homework, but it is a way to save money. And, honestly, you can do just as good a job as a realtor if you research your area and the paperwork you’ll need done. How do we go about finding a realtor who deals primarily with buyers?
