What’s funny is using an extreme left wing source like Think Progress.

What’s funny is how we heard tariffs would not work a few weeks ago and now, apparently they have worked well.

There are serious things in this world going on, immigration, Iran, ISIS, but if one is so concerned with what the extreme left in think progress says, so be it.

Really? Does the source automatically invalidate the verbatim quotes of the president?

The mafia has figured this out a long time ago: ā€œblackmail WORKS.ā€ Even the threat of a blackmail works.

Pushing ISIS way back, a problem that was left to Trump because of his two predecessors.

Lowest Unemployment Rates for Minorities.

Strong economy.

I’ll take that any day over what an extreme left wing publication like extreme left says.

This is just a cheapshot, our nation has used tariffs throughout its history, now we hear this being made an analogy with the mafia. I’m out of here. This is hateful.

I’ll take ACTIVELY pro-life, pro-America, pro-religious-liberty, pro-minority (best unemployment rate in history for African-Americans and Hispanics) President Trump over any of the Democratic candidates.

I was not talking about some election stuff. I feel ashamed for the horrible ignorance of Trump. It casts a very bad light unto the US. (Oh, and by the way, there was full employment for all the slaves on the plantations.)

What’s even sadder is Obama thought Hawaii was n Asia,He also thought our country was comprised of 57 states,

Lol, are you suggesting that increased employment for all Americans, and a historically low unemployment rate among minorities, is similar to slavery? So Obama freed minorities by overseeing a slow economy and increased welfare, and Trump is putting minorities back in chains by overseeing a good economy that provided minorities jobs? Don’t talk nonsense. What a strange world you live in, where increased employment is a bad thing.

It would be so funny, if it were not so sad. 😦
It’s actually a pathetic article, a ā€˜think tank’ shouldn’t resort to petty ad hominems build on misrepresentation.

Trump named two west coast cities and included other cities. Only an intentionally bad read would assume it was all about California.

The bussing one is funny though.

No, there wasn’t. Employment is a voluntary state in which there is a mutually agreed-on exchange of labor for money.

Why do you call yourself Economist?I’m just wondering…

Chattel slavery, which is what we had in the colonies/US, is involuntary and does not involve an agreed-on exchange.

I did not say that it is the same. I merely said that ā€œfull employmentā€ can be defined differently. And also that full employment is not necessarily better than a certain level of unemployment. And I chose my avatar (Economist) for a very good reason. Because that is what one of mine profession was before I retired.

He thinks ā€œWestern liberalismā€ literally means liberals on the west coast.
In a world that has redefined ā€œchoice, hate and hate speech, love, gay, and marriageā€ and invented ā€œhomophobiaā€ to mean something other that what it would seem to mean, it should not seem so offensive, except for who is doing the redefining. The left thinks it has a patent on the redefinition of words. How else can you win an argument without facts, evidence, or reason?

Western Liberalism, if I’ve heard it, it’s just barely,

Western values, I’ve heard of it.

Western journalism, I’ve heard of it

The source has a clear bias and I’d call this nothing but sour grapes, I will go to bing later and look up ā€˜western liberalism’, I did not know what a ā€˜classical liberal’ was until recently and it’s not my common conception of what a liberal is, a number of conservatives might fit that definition.

I respect sources, I’d say for example, if I care to read liberal thought, New Republic, the Atlantic and perhaps the Nation are periodicals that are respectful to the idea of dialogue. For the record, in some ways, I see the Atlantic as centrist at times.

One would think the the most important man in the world could maybe find out what things are before answering. Are there no advisors in the White House besides Jared and Ivanka?

ā€œLiberalā€, as a political term, originally referred to individuals who supported limited government by elected representatives back in the 17th and 18th centuries. The Whig party was a ā€œliberalā€ party, for example. The conservative parties promoted monarchy and aristocracy, like the Tories. Only recently in the 20th century has liberal come to mean a proponent of large government entitlement programs and relaxed sexual mores, and ā€œconservativeā€ come to mean limited government. Hence why the term ā€œclassical liberalā€ was invented, to distinguish the original meaning of liberalism, now modern conservatives in the US, from those who call themselves liberals today. Also why the term ā€œlibertarianā€ was coined to (self)describe those who believe in liberalism to the extent of the atomization of the individual ala John Locke’s fictional description of the relationship of peoples to one another.

Or we could asks the journalists (?), not to prooftext what he actually said.

His answer to the question was quoted in full. Hard to understand what makes you think that proof-texting is an issue here.
