I do not have a college education like a lot of Catholics so maby this is an ignorant comment. It seems to me that the Pope is instep with the early Christian mayrtrs with the actions he is taking. He is being humble, contrite, drawing people in a peacefull way and not denying the kingship of Jesus but sowing a message of peace. While we may think we have the right to self defence and war against the moslems (with our words if not swords )we have a higher obligation to do what ever it takes to bring them to Christ Jesusâ salvation even if that means losing every last drop of Christian blood in peacefull demonstration under the sword of islam. # Matthew 16:26Yeah, I wonder what possible good comes of doing things like that. It scandalizes Catholics and other Christians and Muslims donât give a flying you-know-what because heâs still representing a false religion in their eyesâbut he just doesnât appear as convicted of it as Muslims are to their religion.
What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
The pope is very wize and learned and showing us the correct example. Building bridges is a better way of converting someone then trying through force. Is it not? So do you have a better way? And do you believe JP2 (although I do know he was human and therefore not infallable) legitimizing the work of Satan as MFM stated?

Exactly! The only âbridgeâ that need be in place between Catholicism and Islam is a one-way bridge that calls Muslims to forsake their false devil-inspired religion and enter the one True Fold of Christ, the Holy Roman Catholic Church, outside of which there is no salvation.

I wish JPII had taken time out of his busy schedule of appeasing false religions and writing ambiguous encyclicals to do something about all of those pedophile priests in the U.S. And yes I do believe he was legitimizing the work of SatanâŚhe kissed a demonic book which denies the divinity of our Lord, calls Christians âpigsâ and gives license to kill Jews and Christians (just to remind you the priest also kisses the holy Gospels at Mass, so in effect JPII was signifying that the Koran is on the same level as the Gospels)!. He also invited pagans and infidels to pray to their false idols at Assissi TWICEâŚ(praying to anything but the one true God is a grave offense contrary to natural law). St. Francis Xavier, echoing the Psalmist, said that all the gods of the heathens are demons. So JPII was in fact encouraging people to commit sin by praying to demons.

Estimate the body count if he had said that. Do we need any more Catholic priests beheaded, nuns shot dead or Western contractors kidnapped and murdered in the Middle East.
Itâs not as if the sophisticated major world religions would suddenly convert if we were that blunt with them. Many Catholic missionaries have laboured long and hard in foreign lands often with little fruit.

Ever hear of this âthou shalt have no other Gods before me.â Exo 20 I believe. Recognising and legitmizing the God of Islam is wrong and against everything we are taught, how does him praying to the God of Islam, or even giving the appearance of doing so even begin to win people to Christianity, it actually weakens peoples perspective of Christianity being the one true religion.

)The fact is that we all know what the score is and only the a-Cs will jump on this.
Too many people would rather do anything but pray along with people who have been our enemies in obedience to the Lord who told us to love them and do good to them.
I feel real sure that Our Lord knows not only who he was praying to but what he is praying for as well.
