Well, here we go again!

Anyone here from the parish? - can you talk to the priest and the youth ministry people? It’s getting wierder and wierder!

That doesn’t even look or sound like a Mass.(except for the words of the consecration - I think that’s the only thing they got right!)

Can I start the list?
oh you bigot
this isn’t how it is
things are changing and this doesn’t happen often
why do you hate the NO
they have no clue
but the people feel so on fire with the Holy Spirit
Should I continue?

Not in the slightest - not with a video this bad anyways.

I think we’re all aware of the massive problems in Orange County. Just wish more people did more videoing and forwarded it all on to the Vatican!!!

Knock Knock…the VATICAN put the bishop there!

All I have to say is that I am very glad I am not a Catholic in California…it appears their are very grave abuses on a wide scale taking place out there.

Get back to the basics, that is what needs to be done.

This isn’t surprising. There is also a percentage of people in power or authority who use their station to change things the way THEY want.

Think of managers who set up the store the way they like it. Politicians who run for things they like. The eldest sibling in charge of babysitting who runs the house the way he likes it.

And I feel compelled to put in a benefit of doubt to this priest, not knowing background information.

What if he simply forgot the correct words? What if he experienced a wave of nervousness and lost his place if he was reading?

That is the theatre part of me wondering, because the words he spoke had keywords from the correct saying in it, and in my acting that is typically what happens. Such as when you are singing a song and you “fake it.”

I would like to think so but a couple things stand out.
At the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) the video states that the priest said that “It’s in the missal” Not the General Instruction of the Roman Missal but an Oregon Press missal.

The words on the screen state that this version is used all the time in Orange

And, at a liberal church in Pentwater, MI I heard the same version.

I think it’s more than the priest messing up.

You mean there is a missal with this passage in it? Is this a Catholic missal? Hmm, sounds fishy.

The Oregon Catholic Press missals are not imprimatured -they have not been reviewed and accepted.
OCP has received approval to print “a” missal- but has abused this “approval” by changing the words of many of the ancient hymns (some written by saints!) Even altering the prayers of the Mass.

The priest knows the words of the Mass (or at least that’s why we pay the guy!)
If the missal is wrong - it is HIS responsibility to not allow it. (and B. Brown’s not to allow the missals in his churches) This man (Fr. Galinada) was ordained in 1978 - long enough to know the words of the Mass. But, because he changes them weekly, even HE doesn’t know them now and his congregation doesn’t know them either -
So anything’s ok - as long as it has a few key words.

Then there’s B. Brown who changes the words, too.

Great shepherd - leading the sheep right off the edge of the cliff.

They are singing Matt Maher’s version of the Agnus Dei is that permissible in Mass? One of my local parishes does it but is it a abuse?

This priest was formerly in a religious order, but declines to discuss it. It is routine for him to wing-it, skip parts of the Mass that get in the way, and otherwise act as if he knows nothing about the GIRM, Canon Law, etc. Attendance has declined in that parish since his arrival. Does anyone wonder why?
It looks like he’s a favorite of Bp. Brown. Maybe next October he can borrow the Barney suit, he already “swings” around the altar.😦

How many years has stuff like this --been going on in that part of California.

WOW!!! That was a mass??? I thought it was a protestant revival.
I especially love the drums and cymbal crashes.
Those wacky Californians. Always gotta cut against the grain. Too bad they are cutting the platform that supports them. Gonna be a bad fall.

That was a video of every single Youth Mass in my first parish – and I don’t live in Orange!
