you know the Missals we use on our Parish have the imprimatur:) …and on further searching (Missal, imprimatur)
I have notcied that every other Missal states very prominently that they have the imprimatur…so why shouldnt the OCP do the same?
ocp.org/en/products/worship/missals.php

There are lots of different OCP missals.
I’m holding a Heritage Missal on my lap right now. It does havea Concordat cum originali at the beginning by the Bishop of Portland.

But it sure doesn’t that that Happy Version of the Agnus Dei! And considering that no one may change the words of the liturgy, if the Bishop is okaying this version, something fishy is going on in Portland with Oregon Catholic Press.

I must say that this one was a little over the top. The shorts, IMHO were over the top. The outfit the other woman was wearing was fine. I don’t think the creed should be skipped at all. As far as announcing the other priest. It would have been better if there was a brunch or breakfast afterwords at the parish hall to introduce him. I was wondering what the priest was wearing. Even in NO, there are certain colors that the priest wears seasonally. Mine did anyway. I agree the priest gives the homily…the young women could have done the readings. As a NO, I haven’t been to one where there is clapping…maybe its just me. Or maybe, this isn’t NO and someone’s creative addition. I have been to teen masses, and they were not even close to this.

Now Karin and netli(name removed by moderator)…don’t faint…but this one…I will agree is over the top. However, I’m not ready to agree that the old ways are the way to go. I would not blame it on California…either.

I’m not fainting, I’m applauding!
Spot on!

And I do think that this is part of the problem. When the progressives can’t admit (as Julianna is) that some things are over the top or the conservatives won’t conceed that some innovation is okay as long as the conservative masses are also offered, we will never agree.

I highly doubt it, unless they are liturgy police. The majority of people trust that their clergy are using approved missalettes and don’t even think to question it.
Isnt that how certain clergy members got away with molesting kids…no thouught to question them?!
The burden of proof that it is NOT approved and licit is on the doubter, and since you cannot find it on the internet, tells me you haven’t looked inside of the actual missalette.
Kind of hard to look in the actual Missal Joy…
perhaps since you seem to own one you can scan the imprimatur or anything else that you feel proves that they are OK to use:)
It also tells me you have no idea of how publishers of missalettes must adhere to strict liturgical standards before they can be put into parish use
I am well aware of this fact…that is why I questioned why OCP did not state that their Missals had the imprimatur…it would seem that every other Missal I came across online had no issue stating this fact!
. It speaks also of your disinclination to believe the required notice I mentioned above, which is printed on page 2 that proves it is legit.
Perhaps I just question the source it is coming from;)

Lighten up! 🙂 I am shocked that you would come in with such an attitude angelqueen.org
No need for the sarcasm at all. We are one big happy family and if you are just going to come across as someone tinkled in you cherrios, I have no need to answer you questions.

Have a good day! angelqueen.org
I love being one big happy family! Can we just all hug and kiss, then we’ll sit in a circle and hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

Lord, I leave for a while and come back this thread has turned into a highschool, what’s with all the “kumbaya” stuff?

I think it means the Life Teen Mass, with all its liturgical abuses is the equivalent of one big Khumbaya.
With the exception of the consecration, that is.

Besides the GIRM deviations, I don’t know what bothers me the most, shorts at Mass or video cameras at Mass. Those are even worse than water bottles.😛

I’m pretty sure Our Lord would consider the liturgical abuses that can lead others away from the faith the more serious of the three things you mentioned. But that’s just my opinion. Doesn’t count for much, I’m afraid.

I checked the missalettes this Sunday-- our is an OCP bilingual “Unidos en Cristo / United in Christ™” I did NOT see an imprimateur anywhere on it.

The Agnus Dei in our version is–

Lamb of God…
Bread of Life…
Word of God…
Lamb of God, Grant us Peace.

Well, how about that!!!

Well whoever had the camera didn’t do a very good job. I saw alot of feet, and movement back and forth. But for some reason there were excellent shots of the woman in the shorts, and the clapping. :hmmm:

It does make me wonder, “who” was doing the taping. Don’t tell me the Patriot Act is alive and well in the Catholic Church. I always wondered what John Ashcroft was up to when he left DC.
