Yes, Mormons believe that John the Apostle never died. He was granted his wish to live until the Second Coming of the Lord. The three Nephite disciples mentioned in the Book of Mormon also obtained the same promises, and did not die. The priesthood was not “taken from the earth,” in that sense of the term. The priesthood was taken from the Church, because of the Apostasy.
lol…The Apostasy claims it was when the Priesthood was taken from the earth. Then, when we bring up John, there is a sudden caveat “in the sense of the term”. lol…Reminds me again of “it depends on what your definition of the word is is.”
John had the priesthood, but at some point in the early history of the Church his ministry in the Church came to an end. Although he continued to live, he was no longer operating as a minister to the Church. The same thing holds true of the “three Nephte disciples”. The Book of Mormon documents the history of how their ministry among the Nephites was terminated because of the Apostasy among them
