I never once implied or stated my desire to become a Muslim or leave the Catholic faith. Please don’t assume anything. Maybe you missed the part where I said I was “seeking reasons for my faith?”
I never implied or stated you desired to become a Muslim. I only said “underlying interest”. If I misunderstood your language like many others in this thread, I do apologize.
Here I could assume you are calling me stupid, but I doubt that anybody would do such a thing to somebody of their own faith who is simply trying to understand something.
Again, I only said “If…too complex”. If you think this is equivalent to being stupid, I do apologize as well.
The premise of your question is fabricated upon your false assumptions.
Again, if the question has offended you in some ways, even unintended, I apologize as well.

Dear Schnitz,

What you are doing in Catholicism is OK, and i believe that you are supposed to. In Islam, you cannot ask.
In Islam, its adherents can ask and question their faith but in private to your Imam or Mufti but certainly NOT in public (ie in presence of kaafirs or non Muslims) as that is blasphemous.

You do not have to know Arabic language in order to fully understand Islam. There are many Christians who live in non Arab Muslim majority countries such as Pakistan, Iran, Brunei and Malaysia and know what it is like to be subjugated and given the name “Dhimmi”. Consider reading Jihadwatch.org by Robert Spencer!

Robert Spencer of jihadwatch.org is a Melkite–an Byzantine-rite Christian of Arabic descent in communion with Rome, so he knows quite well about what it’s like to be a Christian surrounded by Mahometans.

… WHY ALLAH COMMAND YOU TO FACE SPECIFICALLY TO KAABA WHEN OFFERING SALAT? (While previously the direction was to Jerusalem).
answered more than once . Feeling lazy now to write again . Pl. browse Ask about Islam thread if u want .

For your faith to grow it needs to be challenged so be willing to ask the hard questions …
evrything Jesus did and said was a challenge, a challenge to humanity, in a positive way. To accept Jesus is to accept His challenge for us, the challenge that people cannot meet without His grace, the cornerstone 😉

ACTUALLY YOU HAVE NOT.

YOU HAVE EXPLAINED WHAT THE KAABA IS.

YOU HAVE EXPLAINED THAT YOU DO NOT WORSHIP THE KAABA.

BUT YOU HAVE NOT EXPLAINED WHY YOU HAVE TO FACE THE KAABA.

**Answer the WHY. **

WHY DID ALLAH TELL YOU TO FACE THE KAABA WHEN WORSHIPPING is swariffin’s question.

Thanks for the info. That sounds good enough to me. I understand that we must also respect the Imam. I assume that if I am not satisfied, I can also ask other Imam, also privately. That is still make sense to me. But, I disagree why asking is considered blasphemous. The Imam should now something to answer my question, correct?

Oh I see now. According to you in Islam you can ask but the answer is given only once and cannot be repeated, whether or not you could listen to such answer, let alone understand the answer.

That is completely agreed, my dear brother. Hope that we can pray and strengthen each other, so, together we can meet the challenge from Jesus.👍 👍

Thanks brother. I think that we both forget that this thread is about “Answering Islam” not “Asking Islam”. 🙂

** It is not right to ask “Why did Allah do this?” How can any one ask why God is doing something.

The direction of prayer was paramount amongst the Jews. It is a miracle of the prophet Muhammad about facing Ka’abah in five daily prayers. There were very few Muslims in Makkah in the beginning and they had a direction for prayer. That was jerusalem. You might ask why the prophet or the Muslims were praying facing Jerusalem??? But you did not ask. Then you should have asked if the Jews used to face to any place for their prayers. That would have been a good question.

Now about Ka’abah. The few Muslims migrated to Madinah. For a year they kept on praying facing Jerusalem. Then Allah ordered the Muslims to face Ka’abah. We cannot question God about what He is ordering and why. Then you may ask why did Allah order the Muslims to pray five times a day. i am sure there will be no end to your questions.

The miracle:
Can any one say that the prophet knew that his religion Islam will spread all over the world? There were just a few hundred Muslims being persecuted and attacked by the pagans of Makkah. And the later attack from the world super powers, Roman and Persian was still quite unknown at that time.

There was no hope that the religion will spread all over the world. But the prophet was told by Allah that he will prevail over all false religions and he will over-ride all false religious forces. It was revealed to the prophet and it is written in the Quran. If nobody had fought against the prophet, he woul dnever have fought against any one. He had no political ambitions.

Leaving all politics aside, could any one know that the religion Islam will spread all over the world and because they had orders for collective prayers five times a day, the Muslims will need a sign of unity, a direction. So the order was given by the All Knowing Allah to face Ka’abah for all prayers and never to face to any other direction.

If there is no direction and muslims have to build mosques all over the world in every city in every village, there will be chaos if there is no unity of direction. People have to perform individual prayers too. If there is no order to face Ka’abah then father will be facing west and daughter will be praying in the same room facing east. Can you please not understand these simple things !!

Imagine your people sitting in a church, some facing east and others facing north and south, in the same church and in one line of chairs some facing east and some in the same line facing south, there will be a chaos. You would not like that. Would you?

I am sure it is a miracle of Muhammad about facing Ka’abah for all individual and collective prayers.**

Okay, I get the part that if God says so then it is so. And I can understand that.

"There was no hope that the religioin will spread"

But from my reading of history, it was done at the point of the sword. If Islam is truly persuasive, why is it that people only converted because they were in fear for their lives. If people were not threatened with death, do you think the Muslim countries would be Muslim now?

God is everywhere. Mecca, Tabyeh, Axum, Tel Keppe…

Go ahead and face wherever you can best focus on God. This is not chaos, Planten. How can it be when God is everywhere?

For me, time in prayer is the ONLY time of complete peace and focus in my day, no matter where I physically am. The physical location makes no difference.

🤷

Here we go again…

Q = Why Muslim face the direction of Kaaba when praying?
A = Because Allah said so

Q = Why Allah command Muslim to direct to Kaaba?
A = We cannot ask Allah’s command

Now, Planten. I ask you another question

Q = Is Allah is in Kaaba?
A = ___________________ (Please ?)

Q= If Allah is not in Kaaba, why Allah command you to face to a direction where Allah is not there? Don’t you think that such command is funny for a REAL AND TRUE GOD ever command you to face to a thing when praying???
A = We cannot ask Allah’s command?

IT IS THE ENEMY OF ALLAH WHO WILL TRICK HUMAN TO FACE TO A DIRECTION WHERE ALLAH IS NOT THERE.

For a true submission to Allah, you must always face Allah and never ever be away from Allah, don’t you think so?

One other thing, if Muhammad think it is a miracle to be able to face Kaaba 5 times a day when praying, then it is also a miracle for Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin to walk on the moon. Which is easier?? Oh dear… What a logic??

I asked Jewish Holy Scripture, and it says they faced Jerusalem when praying because it is the holy mountain (hill) of God, Mount Zion, where God dwells.

It was not uncommon that they took these lines in their prayers and worship:

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;

4 indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;

6 the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

7 The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;

8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

OK, so it means that now Allah dwells in the Kaaba? I’d love to know why he changed his mind. I guess we must be very bad people wanting to know what Allah wanted to keep as a secret.

**Can any one say that the prophet knew that his religion Islam will spread all over the world? **.
The argument regarding number of adherents is very weak at best.
Christianity still has more adherents than Islam and it too started with just a few members that were also persecuted and quickly spread accross the world. And yet you will have no problem stating that such facts mean nothing other than there are a lot people willing to believe anything.

The main problem with Islam is not that it offers a different prespective of God’s revelation that people are attracted to and wish to follow. The problem is that it forces a view of Jesus that is contrary to history. Islam is not alone in taking advantage of the fact that people do not know their christian history.
Islam says Jesus proclaimed he was just a man
Jehovah Witnesses an angel
and mormons a god of many gods in existence
(There is also the occasional hindu sect that believes that jesus was one of many incarnations of Vishnu through history)

And interestingly enough all 3 faiths believe that God called upon their prespective prophets to restore Jesus’ true message.

Unless you can provide historical evidence for your assertions about Jesus then I cannot see any reason to look into your assertions about Muhammed.

**sis benedictus2, thanks for reminding me. The word sword is not to be found in the Quran. See the entire Quran, you will not find the word “sword” in it. But it is very much found in the bible NT.
There is no teaching in the Quran to spread any religion by sword. It is forbidden to do that…

Those who are converted to Islam by sword would never fight for the sake of Islam, like they fought defending their faith in Islam against two great military religious powers, Rome and Persia.**

Historically, there are times when a subjugated people DID take up arms to help their rulers. Keep the devil you know…
