Civitas is obviously, a Latin word and sounds like they are the Church Militant which many of us in following our faith have no other option but to follow.

I don’t know anything about Civitas, but regardless of their role I’m glad to see the turnout. I wish there was that much common sense in the US.

That’s good. I hope and pray that something can be done to avert a future French nation with gay “marriage” as the law of the land. Gay “marriage” will be disastrous to any society that legalizes it. I fear for those states here in the United States which have already legalized it. We are definitely on a slippery slope and morality is just going to continue to get worse and worse. I think it is inevitable that someday gay “marriage” will be legal in the vast majority of the world. I hope and pray that this is not the case but I think it will happen. The family which consists of a husband and a wife (one man and one woman) and any children that they have is the fundamental unit of society. If you change the definition of the fundamental unit of society then you are definitely going to have some serious consequences.

Bishops’ Conference of France distancing itself from demo organised by Civitas as far as I can understand.

If you go to the Civitas site, and scroll down a little you’ll see a photo of there march and behind a banner that reads Alliance Royale, you’ll see a black woman in there ranks. I have a feeling this is nothing more than the similar attacks on the Tea Party, i,e, “this person once associated with that person who once said such and such” As for many of there members feeling immigration to France has gotten out of control, I’ll bet you’d find more than a few people on the bigger march who feel the same way.
Given the media coverage of the conservative movement in a America, I hope you can
forgive me for not taking these reports about Civitas at face value. 🤷

google.fr is obviously for France and nothing really comes back negative on these people.

fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civitas_%28mouvement%29

Looks like they have historic ties to SSPX and Bishop LeFrevre. Nothing, absolutely nothing to be found on Civitas.

In fact, those speaking negatively of Civitas need to remember they are Traditional Catholics who have a whole forum devoted to them on Catholic Forums.

Blogs from Le Monde, mainstream media: droites-extremes.blog.lemonde.fr/category/civitas/

They opposed the President Hollande being elected.

It looks like any criticism of them on a brief scan of them is owed mainly to their opposition to the change in the definition of marriage.

And being marginalized likewise seems totally unfounded, this would be like if there was a Pro-Life March and let’s say some organization chose to march on it’s own.

This protest in Paris was so strong, apparently Civitas marched on a different street than the main protest, that hardly marginalizes them and in fact, indicates how big this protest was.

Perhaps Civitas could have exaggerated their own figures or as much, may have accurate figures, Civitas says their own protest was 50,000 strong, if all in all, as many as one million were in the whole protest, there is really nothing wrong with one sizeable organization marching in another part of the city, a nearby street.

People kneeling, children, banners of the Sacred Heart, obviously they’re a dangerous group. I can see why the government is concerned :D:D:D

Support for SSM in France Falls From 65% to 50% in Wake of Paris Rally
:

President Francois Hollande is planning to legalize same-sex marriage, but the country’s Catholic bishops and other religious leaders are fighting the initiative.

Public opinion appears to be moving in their favor, with a recent poll showing about 50 percent of French support same-sex marriage, down from 65 percent in August.

France has already legalized civil unions for same-sex couples, but this new law gives gay couples the rights to adopt.

Traditional French groups say children should be raised by a mother and a father.

French parliament to review gay marriage bill

But key areas of the bill, which redefines marriage as "contracted between two persons of different sex or of the same sex”, have been dropped in a bid to appease opponents.

A clause that would allow same-sex couples access to medically-assisted fertility treatment has been left out – for the moment.

Plans to ditch the words “father” and “mother” from official documents – to be replaced by “parent 1” and “parent 2” have also been removed when it concerns heterosexual couples.

Polls suggest that some two-thirds of voters support gay marriage, although the adoption option is less popular.

The debate should last two weeks.

Belgium, Britain, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Iceland, The Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden currently allow gay adoption.

It is misleading to say that Germany allows gay adoption. 2 gays can’t adopt a child! It is only possible if one of them had a child from a heterosexual relationship, then the other could adopt the child as a step child.
