Wow! That argument is up there in the lofty heights of rhetoric and Logic alongside the classic “I know you are but what am I!”
Respectfully you don’t have to support gay sex or marriage. But I do think you have to accept gays and lesbians for who they are (WND does not and I’m greatly saddened that there are readers of that unjust and unloving publication among the good users of CAF. There’s a lot more loving and charitable Catholic publications out there that are not WND).
And what they’re talking about is actual bullying and gay bashing. We’re talking physical violence. That person is a closeted case.
As someone who is a homosexual I ask you you accept me as a brother in Christ, a person who is worthy of the same love and respect from God almighty, a person who has the same human dignity and who is worthy of your compassion.
Quite frankly I can’t think of anyone on here who wouldn’t agree with that.![]()
Wanna see bullying and bashing? Look at what happens to those who leave the lifestyle and discuss why they have done so. It's not pretty. And it's gays doing the eviscerating.
Look, all I can tell you is that when I stumble upon photos of gay "pride" parade participants, I feel revulsion and contempt toward those who care so little about children who may be in the vicinity. Nancy Pelosi once marched with a NAMBLA contingent just a few feet away. Don't tell me that the ultimate objective of the radicals is not to silence those who disagree, including entire churches. You, as a decent individual, should be on OUR side on the freedom of speech issue. Are you? :hmmm: Rob
This is actually interesting. There are plenty of people at my school, being a University, who “found out” they were gay shortly after coming here. Strangely enough, they did not chose to talk with a lisp until afterwords. I find that kind of offensive, because I know several people who actually have real lisps who aren’t gay. That’s right that you shouldn’t judge or stereotype anyone. And the lisping part… I’ve even said that T.V. always portray gay men as men with a nasal sounding voice. The truth is, that has nothing to do with a person’s sexuality. So their voice isn’t tough and macho? Who cares?
Not everyone who is homo-phobic is “closet"gay.” But a lot of homo-phobic people seem to be afraid that they might become that way themselves. So they may struggle with the temptation themselves.
Not all gays live in a “lifestyle” its only a very public minority. I’m gay and I’m not living some lifestyle of sex, drugs, and pride parades.Wanna see bullying and bashing? No one here would have an issue with a homosexual trying to live a chaste life. Not all gays live in a “lifestyle” its only a very public minority. I’m gay and I’m not living some lifestyle of sex, drugs, and pride parades.
Basically you’ve debased me down to a stereotype. You want to be an ex-gay? Fine! You’ll have no argument from me. But I will go to my grave that when I went to an ex-gay organization I came out my screwed up than when I went in.
You don’t know every gay or lesbian to make your judgement. And this goes for everyone here. For each gay person you meet you have to judge them on the individual circumstances of their lives. Not every gay person out there is having sex or marching in pride parades! In fact I live like many heterosexuals do!
It can be true sometimes. Remember Senator “foot tapper”, extremlely against homosexuals politically, but pursuing other men in airport restrooms.
