Do they even exist? I know we’ve seen and discussed a splattering of anti-Catholic websites, but do they’re Catholic counterparts make any ripples? If they are around, are they at all charitable or as hateful as the anti-catholic websites…It’d be interesting to see if they are, and if they aren’t around it be interesting to understand why?

Sure they do. I am betting that they are going to be more on the line of secular/atheist web-sites though that are attacking American Christianity, which for the most part is associated with Protestantism.

I am willing to bet Bill Maher’s web-site (if he has one) would be filled with anti-Protestantism.

God bless

Not strictly anti-Protestant, but certainly “anti-everyone-who-doesn’t-follow-their-line” is www.jesus-is-savior.com.

A short sample of their invective–
Sadly, the Lutheran religion is full of lying deceits of the Devil. Just as the cult of Roman Catholicism, the Lutheran religion is based largely upon manmade TRADITIONS and NOT upon the Word of God. The Word of God is the ONLY Authority upon which we should base our beliefs and faith.
The Word of God, the Bible, should be our FINAL AUTHORITY in every matter. The heresies of the Lutheran FALSE religion can be traced back to the heretic, Martin Luther. I realize that Luther made a public profession of faith in Christ, but he also publicly ADDED the holy mass and baptism to his faith as well. According to the Bible, Martin Luther is burning in hell today. I know what I just said would flabbergast the average protestant church member, but it is nonetheless true. Martin Luther in his large and small catechisms blatantly declared that NO ONE could go to heaven without being baptized or partaking of the holy mass.
And if they say that about us, you can imagine what they say about the Catholic Church. Jack Chick is a patsy compared to these people.

gcnuss,

Great point. I didn’t even stop to consider Protestant web-sites that are anti-other-Protestants.

There are a great deal of people out there who feel that Lutheranism and Anglicanism are still under the Catholic ‘yoke’ and have not ‘come out of her’ completely yet.

God bless

that website is so funny. i like the part: Salvation… 100% totally free.

** St. Cyprian, “He cannot have God for his father who does not have the Church for his mother”. **

That was quite an interesting lunch time read. Seems to me like they hate everybody. Catholics, Muslims, musicians, dentists (yes, dentists, read The Flouride Conspiracy) no one is spared from their wrath.

I can’t think of one, but just imagine what Belloc or Waugh might have said if they were bloggers. Not that Waugh would have blogged. Belloc would have, though, for the money.

Do you mean CATHOLIC anti-protestant websites? I guess there would be some really hardcore sedevacantist rad-trad types out there that would be anti-protestant a la Feeney. Other than that, probably not much…

From the reading I have done online, the sedevacantists tend to attack Protestants obliquely, as they decry the “false ecumenism” of Vatican II. Their focus seems to be on the supposed failings of the Catholic Church post-Pius XII.

There is an expentecostals or pentecostal “survivors” forums. The Word of Faith movement star pastors attract a lot of “anti” attention. Foursquare, Seventh Day Adventist and Christian Scientist get attention because of the role of women in their founding leadership.

If you mean protestantism as a whole, well only Christians who think that there is something wrong with protestantism will even say “protestants” as if they don’t potentially share just as much with Catholicism as the Protestant denomination down the street.

i dont think they attack anyone. they just upholding what has always been believed and said by the Fathers of the Church.

attacks are what non Catholics do against the CC. i dont think i have to say what they are.

St. Augustine
. Fight it can; be fought down, it cannot. Let us love Our Lord God, let us love His Church, Him as a father, Her as a mother; Him as Lord, Her as His handmaid. No man offends the one and wins the favor of the other. He will not have God for his father who refuses the Church for his mother. “What does it profit you not to have offended your father, since he will punish your offenses against your mother? What does it profit you to praise the Lord, to honor Him, to preach Him, to believe in His Son, to confess that He sits at the right hand of God the Father, while at the same time you denigrate His Church? Outside the Church you can find everything except salvation. You can have dignities. You can have sacraments. You can sing ‘Alleluia’, answer ‘Amen’, have the gospels and have faith in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Spirit and preach it too. But you will find salvation and all the means of grace alone in the Catholic **Church.”

Sedevacantists don’t attack anyone? Really? Ever hear of the Dimond brothers and the Most Holy Family Monastery?

So, do you think that the Fathers of the Church would uphold that Pope John Paul II was 1, not the pope, and 2, a heretic?

sedevacantist.org/wojtyla.htm

This sounds like an attack to me.

ANTI-PROTESTANT POSTINGS

Gosh, I've read tons of anti-Protestant stuff in these forums.

When I have appealed - often - for a more ecumenical approach in the Christian world, my position usually is dismissed here because there is only 'one true church'. Some posters seem to spend most of their time admonishing, debunking, scolding, and attacking Protestantism. There appears to be a deep bitterness in some, when what we need is better understanding and earnest efforts to find reconciliation. Too many Catholics and Protestants feel that reconciliation demands surrender.

What I keep proposing (and it is ignored or gets a very cold reception) is a 'big tent' Christianity where Catholics, Protestants and Eastern Orthodox don't need to give up their distinctive doctrines and practices, but live in an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and respect. As long as this or that group of Christians believe that they alone are right and all other Christians must accept their views exclusively you will have only prejudice, ignorance, and alienation.

I guess I have to be careful because there is only one group in the world which looks at the various denominations, sects, cults be they liberal or fundamental and put the single label “Protestant” to it. Most of the world is either anti-Christian or they specify something they are against rather then saying you don’t follow us and leveling the broadside blast.

Go ahead vent yourselves here, we are listening.
