choosen people,

So do you believe I should keep slamming you, as a Jew, for the persecution of “my people” at “your peoples hands” durring the infancy of my faith? Or do you think it’s more reasnoble for me to accept that times and cultures were different back then, and just move on?

These Chriatian fathers bore the wounds, I don’t. Let me ask you this way, what justifies a jewish Anti-Islamic perspective today? Why can’t you guys rise above your issues with the Palistinians… Oh yeah, because Israelites are dealing with it every day still, just like the ECF’s were dealing with persecution at the hands of the Jews, every single day, from day one.

Anyone trying to slam the Church on this basis, is utterly and completely blind to history, and to the fact that yes, even saints are human.

Mary, Scripture is very clear that Christ is the way, and when people reject Him there are grave consequences, and they become more grave when people reject Him when they have been given more revealed to them. God’s love and mercy is beyond our comprehension, and His righteous judgment is also a reality that should never be overlooked. The seriousness of God’s commands is not to be taken as all roads lead to Heaven, as your language appears to represent. The commission from Christ to go and make disciples of all nations is not optional or loose and broad to where you can believe anything.
The scripture in the OT referred to God in many titles, not just Christ. YHWH means God, El means God, Adonai means God. WE believe in the Christ, Jewish people do not believe God sent the redeemer of mankind yet. I am not giving free license to ‘‘all roads lead to heaven’’ in any of my words. Do not assume to say that I imply those things for which you have said I am implying. God’s Title as , ‘‘Father’’, ‘‘Boss’’ Master’’, ‘‘Son’’ is referred to by the Jewish people in these terms as to keep God’s name holy and sacred. I am in no way rejecting Jesus as the Son of God and being in one with God and a part of the Holy Trinity. But you cannot go aroud saying to people who have been raised in another faith that their title for God is wrong. It is unChristian to say to someone that they will not be saved because they believe in Adonai El or Elohim. These are also names for God…The same God that we worship. YHWH is a Jewish text term for God found in the Tanakh…look it up and start being nice to people. Quit saying that if one who does not believe in Christ is not saved. Only God the Father can judge as to who will be with Him in Heaven. Learn about Hebrew text and its meanings before judging someone not fit for Heaven. Only those who CHOOSE nto believe in the Son of God will choose to become Catholic. You cannot force Catholic teaching upon someone and expect them to say, " yes you are right, and my forefathers are wrong in calling God Elohim." because that is what they were taught to address God as out of respect. Which is what you are doing.
Those who want to be in God’s presence and who want to BELIEVE that God the Father sent His Son to us as Christ will ever convert to this belief.

Have a wonderful Lent, and remember to respect us all, we are ALL God’s children, brothers/sisters in Christ,YHWH, Elohim,Adonai.< terms for God in Hebrew sacred text…look it up.

The scripture in the OT r…look it up.
Mary, it has nothing to do with respect, it has to do with what the Lord Jesus taught and has passed onto the Church. Rejecting Christ is a rejection of God, the Lord taught that. I am not saying that other faiths are completely wrong, but some are more than others. Some have parts of the Truth, and that is to be acknowledged and recognized and even applauded, but it is our duty to proclaim the truth. Have you read the very strong words to the Jews from Christ Himself? Do I need to give you those places in Scripture that prove my point?

I am very famiar with Hebrew and the words for God and Lord, and those references are concerning the Persons of the Trinity in a veiled form.
You say But you cannot go aroud saying to people who have been raised in another faith that their title for God is wrong. It is unChristian to say to someone that they will not be saved because they believe in Adonai El or Elohim.
Yes, it is our duty and responsibility to show people the Truth about Christ, but we are to do so with love. We are by no means to be silent and to sit by and let those who reject Christ to believe that it is just as good as being a follower of Christ, that is seriously wrong. I was not raised as a Christian, and I did convert to Protestantism, and then was guided to the Catholic Church. Had I not been shown where I was not in the fullness of the Faith just because Catholics thought it might hurt my feelings or was afraid to tell me I was wrong on some things, then I would have never discovered Mother Church, and I would have been that much more distant from our Blessed Mother Mary and the communion with the Saints and our Holy Father.

Trust me, I have great respect for the Jews and for everyone who tries to follow God in whatever way He has been revealed to them. But the Lord taught us, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

We are doing the Jews and other separated brethren a serious dis-service if we try to stay neutral and not proclaim the Truth even if it means pointing out where they are wrong. Just ask any convert, they are usually thankful that some Catholic has been there to clarify what is right and wrong.

Christ also said to His Apostles ‘‘If you are not welcomed by those who would persecute you, shake the dust from off thy feet and leave. Sodom and Gomorrah will be in better judgement than those who refuse to believe.’’ And I am saying to you, do not persecute those who do not understand this. Just because we WANT a conversion does not mean that you or I will get one from someone who refuses to believe as we do. Christ commanded us to love one another as we love ourselves. To make desciples of the nations is to allow people who are WILLING to convert come to Christ. Not to condemn those who believe in the Torah. Pilate put Christ to death, not the Jews. So to say to a Jew’'your people killed Jesus, my God, it is blasphemous to that person. I am not refusing Christ in any way, shape or form. Pope John Paul II apologized for the errors that some Catholics are making in saying that they, the Jews do not know God or are not in God’s graces. The Romans…Pilate sent Christ to His death, not the Jewish community at large…You are ticking ME off because I AM PART JEW, and therefore you are saying that MY ANCESTORS ARE DAMNED TO AN ETERNITY WITHOUT GOD!!! You are saying that JUDAISM is WRONG and that JEWS are NOT GOD’s PEOPLE. AND THAT GOD DOESN’T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM, RIGHT?! ANTISEMITE!

I’m really not sure why people would expect early Christians to have a happy dappy view of Jews… Considering from their perspective

First they Crusified the Christ, which while today we know this ultimitaly is the doing of all us sinners, none the less the Jews directly involved certainly would bare their share of blame.
Two points though –

The Romans crucified Christ, though admittedly through the instigation of the Sanhedrin council and the Pharisees. It was a Roman scourge that lashed Christ, a Roman crown of thorns He was mocked with, a Roman cross He was made to carry through the streets of Jerusalem to Golgotha, Roman nails that pierced His hands and feet, a Roman sign in Latin that declared His crime as being “the King of the Jews”, Roman legionaries who played dice for His garments, and a Roman pilum that pierced His side allowing the blood and water to gush forth.

In the Creed, it says “…He was crucified under Pontius Pilate,…” not “…He was crucified under the Chief Rabbi of the Sanhedrin…”. The Sanhedrin themselves said in The Gospel of John that they did not have the power to put Christ to death directly. At any rate, it’s an almost epic leap of logic, right off the rails, to expand culpability from the Sanhedrin and Pharisees, Pontius Pilatus and the Roman Garrison of Jerusalem to then include every Jewish person who ever existed or would exist. I’m pretty sure that Jacob bar Jonah living his life in Alexandria in AD 33 would have never heard of Christ or of the crucifixion, and would have had no opinion on it or role to play in it.

Secondly, since it was in fulfilment of the scriptures and necessary for salvation, why the hatred at all? Shouldn’t early Christians have been thanking the Sanhedrin and Pharisees for playing their unwitting part in the Redemption of mankind, whatever the response of the Jewish authorities to the rise of Christianity? That’s something I have never understood about the so-called “deicide” argument and why I don’t accept it as anything but illogical race-hatred.
