Hating Israel has become Vogue.

I think… It would help a lot of people ,to crack a few history books, that honestly deal with the creation of the state of Israel, especially the lead up and the period directly following.
(I am not directing or dictating here, what others should do… but, this forum is limited, it has not room, for a comprehensive history lesson.)

Here is just a little piece;
A big part of the current “refugee” issue, was that surrounding Arab nations called upon Palestinian Arabs to voluntarily flee Israel…so that they would be out of the way,(harms way and to more easily facilitate invasion) ,a united front Arab invasion would take place, and in about a month, or so, at the longest, it was figured, after the fledgling state was defeated, post haste, they ,(Palestinians who heeded the call of their leaders to vacate),could return and retake what was theirs, AND, in addition, as bonus, confiscate all Jewish holdings, and properties, as they would be utterly defeated.
It didn’t quite work out as planned, so, then, “the entirety of Palestinians forced from their homeland,by Israeli Jews,” Narrative, had to be Invented. The Palestinians become refugees who fled from Israeli Jews. (not peoples complying with orders by their leaders, and fraternity of Arab nations, who made them big promises for their prompt vacate).
That was the beginning ,of a decades cycle ,of use and abuse, of the Palestinian peoples by their own brotherhood. Israel the boogeyman, w/USA,(as)the great Satan, mythology was born.

A good rudimentary grasp can be acquired from reading several texts, especially to be taken from opposing viewpoints…but…that those which are painstakingly accurate.

Right now Jews are defending themselves. They are defending their existence and right to exist, as mandated by the U.N.

It may be the middle-east…but they are the thin blue line, the only buffer between the frontline ,of the Western World ,and what waits perilously on the other side.
They are “Fort Apache”, in every POSITIVE sense of the concept.

Pray for Peace.
Pray for World Peace.
Pray the Rosary.
Thank you all. Martin Pastore.

Anti-semitism is pure evil. The antidote to it is education which will help one grow out of a defective worldview. The Israelis have never attempted genocide toward the Muslims, Arab Muslims frequently advocate genocide against Jews.
A much shorter and to the point, condensed version of my verbose post.
It sums up neatly what I’m trying to say.

And this is according to the Israeli’s.

However, the truth is Palestinians fled their homes in order to get out of harms way on their own.

Others, stayed in their homes because they feared if they left, they would lose them, When Israeli troops came in, they ordered the Palestinians out and transported many by truck out into the desert of Gaza.

After the fighting ended when the Palestinians tried to return, they were stopped and their homes were given to Jewish immigrants from Europe.

Yes, I have read the history, and not the Israeli’s version, but independent sources.

I have a problem (I think).

When I hear about the Israelist genocidical attacksa on Gaza, I get strong anti-Semitic feelings.

When I read the Gospel, I get strong anti-Semitic feelings. Texts like, “They will come from east and west to the kingdom of Heaven, but the children of Israel will be cast out.” And where Jesus says to the Jews, “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do.” And, especially, where the Jews say, “Let his blood be upon our heads, and the heads of our children.”

I have been friends with many Muslims, and realise so many beliefs and values are in common (anti-abortion, anti-homosexuality, anti-pornography, etc.), who have caused me to have great sympathy with the Palestinians. When I was a youth, I also had a lot of ‘extreme right’ friends, who were very decent people at a personal level…

Then I think about all those capitalists- all those ‘sophisticated atheists’- all those homosexuals and degenerates- Seinfeld, Speilberg…ugh…

So, I suppose it comes down to this- I’m realize that I am an anti-Semite. I am not a Nazi, or anything, but it is something I can’t shake off…And all the current news just makes it worse.

And I don’t know what God’s will is…Are these feelings bad? Or is it all true- I mean, the Jews did kill Christ? Is this actually a right feeling, based on ‘unpopular truth’?

I’d be happy for any help, but won’t argue or defend my feelings at all…
You strongly dislike the bad things that Jews have done, no? This does not make you an Anti-Semite, for you do not hate them, you just strongly dislike the bad things that they have done. If you were to start actually hating all Jews, then you’d have to worry about being an Anti-Semite. God bless you.

Anti-Semitism is always wrong. It has no place in the Church and should be given no place in our hearts and minds.

Pray for the grace to love and understand the Jewish people. They are our elder brothers/sisters in the faith and remain God’s chosen people. To love and understand the Jews is to better love and understand Our Lord.

Yeah, but watch how you understand that.

The Jewish Nation are our elder brothers and sisters in faith, but not all Jews have faith and in fact, many are atheist.

Also, some throw the anti-Semitic card whenever a person speaks negatively about the policies of the Israeli government.

Heck, I was called anto-Semitic because I had pointed out that the most famous Christmas songs we sing every year, were written by Jews. 🤷

But I agree, there is no room for any form of prejudice and hatred against anyone.

Well, there are feelings and there are things you chose to do.

We can’t always help what we feel but we can choose to act on them or not.

This is an interesting post. I would just like to give my own personal opinion for what it is worth. I think it is important to make distinctions. I am for instance ardently anti-Zionist. I do not believe that the State of Israel as a Jewish state should exist. I say this because I, in common with over 90% of orthodox Judaism prior to the 1920’s, believe that it would have been for the Messiah to bring the people of Israel together in that manner, if he so wished. The state of Israel is a theological problem. I fully recognise the necessity of finding some place of safety after the WW2 but the British ‘gave’ this land owned by Palestinians for many years, to the Jews.

OK this is my view (very truncated) on Zionism. However, anti-Semitism is the hatred of Jews as Jews. A Christian may hate the anti-Christian rhetoric in the Talmud - indeed he is bound to do so. But he may not hate Jews. When Our Lord was asked by the Pharisees ‘Who is my neighbour?’. It was a loaded question - for a Jew his neighbour was his co-religionist not gentiles. Our Lord made it clear that all men, even our enemies, are our neighbour. We are obligated to ‘love’ all men and women, in God. That means everybody - Jews, Muslims, Atheists, Black, White, Brown and Yellow. We endeavour to love them with God’s charity. He made each one in his image and likeness. But we do not have to love anti-Christian attitudes in any group. It is normal it would repel us. Because we are human we conflate the person and his actions. We can reject anti Christian actions and mentalities whilst wishing the very best to such people and working hard for their conversion.

My last comment is this. I am very familiar with Israel and Israelis and especially modern orthodox Jews. I have studied alongside modern religious Jews during post graduate studies. I certainly found a brazen contempt for goyim amongst them. It is a common enough attitude in Israel among certain religious groupings. I do not speak about liberal Jews. These are often culturally Jewish and imbibe a certain attitude but many cultural accretions inform their world view. Their situation is more complex. I have no illusions about the attitudes of religious Jews but I would not call myself an anti-Semite. Christians are called to a higher standard - our neighbour is any and all people, no matter if they are our friend or our enemy. We must will his highest good. We are not permitted to abuse him nor to prey upon him. To paraphrase a Pope - ‘Indeed, we are all spiritual Semites.’ This is so very true.
