And complained about it all the way. If it’s a good reason for you to have guns, it’s a good reason for others to have guns
I actually don’t mind that Antifa wants to buy guns to fight the government crackdown they think is coming for them. I just think it is grossly hypocritical to knock pro-gun rights people when they talk about having guns vs the government.

From the article:
Liberals are notoriously loath to take their own side in a fight. But their reticence may well be changing in an age of vigilante, white nationalist terror—openly condoned and supported by an incumbent president who has suggested that his armed devotees won’t stand for his removal from office.
If it’s a good reason for you to have guns, it’s a good reason for others to have guns
Honestly, I don’t have a problem with liberals exercising their 2nd amendment rights, in fact, I’m all for it, but these people sound nuts. They raise more red flags than a Moscow May Day celebration.

Have to understand the 2nd Amendment isn’t just for you and me, it’s for everyone, regardless of persuasion. Only exceptions should be felons and mentally ill.

In such a society, a far greater emphasis would be placed on discerning and treating the mentally ill. I’d even bring back the institutions provided involuntary commission can’t occur without the 5th Amendment mandate for due process.

All that said, even in the Wild West when anyone could and did own guns, there were gun free areas back then. Usually this was a courthouse or a saloon. On rare occasions this extended to larger areas. So I’m not against gun free zones per se, but everyone needs to understand that these areas are favorite targets of mass shooters so the proprietors of said areas are going to have to be held responsible if they let in people with guns who shouldn’t have them there. The Dayton shooter being killed by police in less than a minute is an exception to the usual several minutes minimum that other shooters had to do their damage.

“many leftists and even some liberals are beginning to reconsider their feelings about firearms”
“all share one implicit goal: to normalize firearms ownership and training among liberals”

Gee, this is the sort of thing the 2nd amendment crowd should be cheering.
🤔

Members of the group have a track record of criminal behavior.

What I don’t understand is why they target military personnel when it’s the military personnel of this country, which for decades have protected our rights of freedom of speech and the Second Amendment.

They are worried not only about an armed reckoning following a contested election,
What election are they talking about? Hillary gave a concession speech and acknowledged that Trump beat her. Did she demand any recounts anywhere?

Why do people on the right say they need guns to defend themselves from the government? I doubt they’re talking about defending themselves from county clerks and the local librarians.

If you are not a radical fascist intent on violence you have nothing to fear.
The problem is antifa decides what they think fascism is. And what they think fascism is is generally just conservatives expressing views they don’t like.

Your comment makes about as much sense as saying “Yeah well if you aren’t guilty you have nothing to fear from removing the need for a warrant before searches.”

That was a barely coherent reply. Also what does his sexuality or ethnicity have to do with anything? You’re sounding like an SJW!

This is stupid, stop scare mongering. “Antifa” have done nothing besides give some hack blogger a black eye, while fascists have been gunning people down.
So showing the activities of antifa is fear mongering? More importantly, do you think antifa is worth defending or excusing?

Depends on how you define “the right”.

You can’t just assign labels to people. The majority of my coworkers are Bernie supporters. And the majority of those own firearms.

Those of us who identify as Republicans never express concern or fear of the government in our conversations at work. The Bernie supporters do though.

I just don’t get worked up over this stuff. I get up and go out into the world every day and save for increase in visibility of the hard drug addicts on the streets, the world looks about like it did 20 years ago to me.

Do I have a reason to fear the government ? No, not at all. I have no reason to fear the government.

I fear bad guys on the street who acquire weapons on the street.
