The diaspora in America, are you aware of what is happening in Ireland? Ireland is going through another plantation, only this time by stealth. Many of us have no voice in Government as every single party in Dáil Eireann are now globalist, liberal, and left wing parties. Anti Catholic rhetoric, Irish people are now treated with contempt by the Government and mainstream media. Ireland will no longer be Irish in ten years time if things keep moving in this direction. Many feel no hope is left and it is depressing what is happening to our beautiful country.
I have linked a new nationalist newspaper that is trying to tell people what is happening. Order your copy today! - Irish Patriots

Apologies if this is in the wrong category.

I have some Irish ancestry. I don’t feel a huge connection with it like some Americans do, but it’s there. I’ll check out the article. Thanks.

Thank you, it is getting to the stage we don’t know where to turn.

I’m mixed (mostly) Irish and Sicilian ancestry, the Irish from my father’s side. A generation or two ago in America it may have been different, but I don’t consider myself Irish in any political sense, and maybe only barely so in a cultural sense, though I do find ancestry and my family’s origins interesting. Still, I thank you for the article and will pray for my distant brethren.

OP, whats your point? You want us(Americans) to pay for a subscription so we REALLY understand whats going on in Ireland? I’m 1/2 Irish and support the Irish in all they do(as long as it does NOT contradict my Catholic views or my countries interest). Sorry if this is harsh, but I am just being honest.
Let the great Irish people rise up if they want change. Let the people rule their destiny…

just my two cents…

No Brian, I am only trying to let everyone (all the diaspora) know what is happening in Ireland, it is about creating awareness. I don’t expect you to do or buy anything, I added the link incase anyone was interested in reading the paper and afraid for Ireland like I am. I know many Irish in America who have a love and attachment to the homeland and are worried for Ireland. I don’t understand what the issue is?

Sorry, if I came across rude. That was not my intention, I apologize!
My issue was, you want us(American’s) to understand whats REALLY going on in Ireland and you send a paid link. Felt like an advertisement. Are there no websites, to show us whats really going on, that you are worried about?
I am deeply Irish(even display the Irish flag on my flag pole, of course, underneath the USA flag), but the internal concerns of her people really has nothing to do with me. Most American’s, I would believe, feel similar to how I do. We are far removed from the land of our ancestors. We can show pride, but have no concept whats happening on the other side of the pond. actually, a lot of American’s bearly can handle are national “happenings”…

I’m not Irish in any way, but I was interested in the link you provided. Here’s what I found: asylum applications reach 16-year high, a new mosque is being built, 5,000 people are becoming new Irish citizens, something about the so-called “Swedish rape crisis”, Poland and Hungary talk tough on illegal immigration, mass migration leads to population growth in Sweden, a Muslim cultural center is being built in County Tipperary, asylum seekers in Scotland rape children, Ireland takes in 3,000 refugees despite having 15,000 people homeless, etc.
While reasonable numbers of immigrants of European, Christian origin can be integrated, we reject the PC lie that Africans, Muslims, and other Third World victims of Western imperialist skills and people theft, can ever be Irish. They cannot and, if the Irish nation is to survive, they must be sent home.
I think that speaks for itself.

I also note that “The Irish Patriots” seek Ireland’s withdrawal from NATO. One problem with that: Ireland isn’t a member of NATO.

Great grandfather is from limerick. And yeah ireland is going to the dogs

I’m something over half Irish-American.

I am fine with reading the “Irish-American News” and having the discussion threads on here with people currently living in Ireland. I do pray for the country regularly and was just over there so it was not too hard to see with my own eyes what was going on.

I will pass on the newspaper recommendation, I don’t pay for any “paywall” papers no matter from what country. Plenty of free media out there.

I was born and grew up in Ireland, but I live in America (came here in 1982). I think you need to chill out. When I was growing up, sure Ireland was 90% catholic, but really none of the young people lived that way…we went to mass when we were with our parents, but when away we pursued hedonism just as much as kids do today. While I agree we are getting too “woke” as a society (in america as much as in ireland), and there will always be people on the far left and far right (both are just as bad as the other, as the far right lack empathy and compassion). I’m tempted to say render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. Pray for them…that’s the best option. Don’t be judgemental and be kind in your responses so they’ll respect your views. BTW you are not voiceless…you have one vote too, just like everyone else.

Most Irish-Americans want to see the country unified and as such probably support Sinn Fein to some degree.

There are a lot of us who have a little Irish in us.
I do not keep track of what goes on in Ireland.
From what I have read, many folks in Ireland have left the Church, for whatever the reason. That makes me sad.
I pray for Ireland :ireland: 🍀🙏

What is wrong with reading the new newspaper? I think it’s a great idea because in Ireland the mainstream media are not telling the truth about what is going on in Ireland.
You are wrong, the new paper has NOTHING to do with Sinn Féin, in fact it is exposing them, who btw are now a communist liberal leftist party who are so far from the party roots.

The mainstream media in Ireland like to make out the churches are empty on Sunday and only elderly people still go to Mass. This is not the reality, I am a young Catholic and my Church is packed weekly with young and old alike, in fact many people across Ireland are saying about the rise in Mass goers. If anything people are turning back to God.

Sinn Féin are not a republican party any more. They are now a communist, pro EU, liberal, anti Irish party who have sold out.

It’s based on the Sinn Fein people…for those not familiar…this is the political branch of the IRA that used to be violent, but nowadays is using tactics similar to what Hitler used in Nazi Germany to get elected
Oh, please. Gerry Adams is a hero IMHO. The comparison to Hitler is grossly offensive.
You are wrong, the new paper has NOTHING to do with Sinn Féin
I didn’t think so because Sinn Fein would not have made the NATO error others commented about.

I need to chill out? With all due respect you don’t see the heartbreaking change in Ireland. Many are voiceless!! There is no representation in Government for pro-life, Catholics, those that want controlled immigration. People are expected to go along with this new modern woke liberal globalist Ireland that we NEVER asked for.
