Any bronies (meaning MLP fans who are male)?

You know…the last time MLP came up in this board no one believed me when I said that out of the older MLP demographic there were men that actually had girlfriends and wives. 😉

I can’t claim to be a brony/pegasister as I’ve never seen an episode (we don’t have cable/satellite/rabbit ears). But I have enjoyed a lot of the fan-produced stuff.

Oh yes, indeed. According to the authoritative BronyStudy.com, which involved some 5000 respondents…
  1. Marital Status: 96.4% of the Bronies were single and 2.9% were married.
  1. Dating: 22.4% of the Bronies had No Interest in dating, 60.9% were interested but not dating, 10.5% occasionally dated, and 6.3% frequently dated.

Of course, the results are from a web poll, so perhaps should be taken with a grain of salf. :o

Just watched season one 1st episode. Cute!! But I’m a woman who loves girly stuff so I don’t understand why men like this. Maybe it will become clear as I follow the story 😃

Hey, it teaches love and tolerance. Aren’t those Christian values?
Well, there must be some way to use it for apologetics (or cathecesis)… For example, Spike’s “speech” in the episode “Dragon Quest” (“No! It’s just a defenseless egg, like I was! And I’m not gonna let you hurt it!” - mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Transcripts/Dragon_Quest) is almost asking to be used against the pro-abortion argument discussed in the thread forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=615185… And it should be possible to use the last episode of season two (mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Transcripts/A_Canterlot_Wedding_-_Part_2) as a “teaching aid” to explain annulments…

I haven’t seen the show and only know about it from the news, but we may learn more about bronies from an upcoming documentary.

The film is ultra-low budget, being funded by Kickstarter donations, but the show’'s creator Lauren Faust has signed on and so have some of the other persons behind the show.
Faust said she, like the Bronies, is disturbed at the negative images some people have about men who like the show.
“There are a lot of people who when they first hear about men watching a show for little girls, they’re taken to a creepy place,” she said. "They think there’s something wrong with that, something devious about it. I think that’s unfortunate.
“I don’t think you have to have bad intentions to like little girls or to like the things that they like,” Faust said. “And it’s upsetting to me that people jump to those conclusions. I think it’s unfair to men and I think it’s unfair to girls and women.”
To set the record straight about Bronies, Faust, John de Lancie and others are producing a documentary that filmed over the weekend at BronyCon. De Lancie is the voice of Discord on “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” and is perhaps best known for playing "Q’’ on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

To the OP; I used to have a club. I formed it with my neighborhood friend, Jill. One of the club rules was to watch My Little Ponies every morning. We were ages 6 and 7. I can understand your seeking validation. But seriously, go to the source.

:hug1:

My DH and I love watching MLP together! We are both Fluttershy fans. 😃 Although I’m pretty fond of Pinkie Pie too and will randomly start singing her “Smile” song 😛
Now it can be told here: I’m a Brony as well. 😃 Love the show, even if it’s not shown here in the Philippines yet. I watch it on YouTube and have bought “The Friendship Express” DVD. And yes, I’m overdosing now on Pinkie’s “Smile Song.” 😛

Sometimes, a person’s gotta get a break from life. Time to wind down. Time to exit reality. If, only for a moment. I’ll give you that.

I watched a few episodes and discovered I am immune to this strange disease of “Bronyism”, but I know others have not been as fortunate…Those who hold a grudge against this show…They eventually fall to the disease…However, those who are indifferent to the show…They are immune to its captivating effects…

I must be the exception then. I was indifferent to it (in fact I was indifferent to MLP in general), but I still fell for FiM.

As this is my first post in a while, I would just like to sound out with a resounding YES!!!

OK, I’ve done it. I’ve given into the propaganda and watched some My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I couldn’t believe this show is so popular with the male demographic. But now I see why. So, are there any bronies in the audience?
Wow! I’m surprised to see so much interest in MLP-FIM here! 👍

There is a group forum here for MLP fans as well as other cartoons with anthro style characters. For anyone that’s interested, just check my signature for the link. 🙂

Another good example would be the episode “Feeling Pinkie Keen”, which is really a thinly-veiled discussion on science vs. religion. I like the fact that they just summed it up by basically saying "you don’t have to understand it in order to believe in it. And I’ve heard quite a few atheists say they HATE this episode.
