Well Anna I had to park 3 spaces further than usual at my destination tonight. So I’m too tired to discuss the difference or similararites of knowing everything about things and knowing something withour err. So I withdraw from tonight’s match and concede the trophy to PR by default!

:yup: Anna that was it. PR obtained that space for me from which I had to walk further to get to my destination. I know now it was her plan all along to wear me down! :bigyikes: Of course too you know me. All about peace and some unity in the end. So I did feel led to cave for the purposes of peace and indeed levity but it was worth it seeing PR getting milk all over!

I agree with ya and I even sometimes think the saints are lookin down upon on us and thinkin what are they doin down there? If they only knew what we know up here!

I identify as Episcopal. I have been attending an Episcopal church for some time and plan on talking to the priest about joining. My church history is like a roller coaster ride, and now its settling down.

I was raised Baptist, went to an Assembly of God church in my teens, converted to Catholicism, but left for a number of reasons. I found a home in the Episcopal church. I don’t hate Catholicism nor am I bitter towards the church. I believe the RCC has lot more right than wrong. I probably agree with about 95% of what the RCC teaches. Its the other 5percent that would keep me from the church. I am more in line with the RCC than I would be the Baptists or Assemblies, for instance, especially in the area of worship.

At my crossroads I found myself looking at either Lutheran or Episcopal. I don’t think the strict Sola Scriptura churches have it right, and the Episcopal church has the three legged stool of Scripture, tradition and reason. I do think the RCC goes a little far with tradition, but that is my opinion, and I am humble enough to know that I cannot change Catholic’s beliefs about that.

I once spoke to an EC priest about membership requirements. Basically I was told at his parish ppl take a 6 wk (1 day/wk) course on TEC to know what they’re getting into and can then simply be received by the bishop if they were already confirmed in the CC or if not, then they are confirmed at that time. The bishop comes once per yr for the festivities. Membership also requires an annual pledge and the use of one’s gifts and talents. Tithe is encouraged or at least one is encouraged to stive toward the tithe.

I appreciate you honest and open response. Sometimes it takes time to find our place. I think the Episcopal Church combines the best of Catholicism and the best of Protestantism.

I do have a great respect for the Catholic faith. There are only a few issues that keep me from converting; and that could change down the road. I can’t really say right now.

I, too, would say my beliefs are more in line with Catholicism than the Baptist Church.

I pray for your decision, and that it will be according to God’s purpose.

Thank you for your kind words. I’ll what happens when I discuss this with the priest. I go to a fairly small congregation-about 200.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. I do see alot of good in Catholicism, but in Protestantism as well. Catholicism tends to be very strong in its charity towards mankind in addressing humanitarian concerns.

I told my mom, who had a huge impact on the fact that I am even a Christian, once that I only have a couple of issues with Baptist theology and worship. IMO, I would like to see them make the Eucharist central to their worship, and be open to tradition, reason and even experience in their epistemology. They already do use reason and tradition, but they won’t admit it. They reject infant baptism, but I don’t see that as my theological “hill to die on”.
