Back on topic. God knows what’s in our heart. He knows why we do certain things. I believed in the teachings of NFP at first. Upon further reflection and studying of the Bible, NFP circumvents God’s will by not trusting in Him. I have a funny suspicion that God knows what’s best for us whether or not we agree. If we lift our voices up in prayer, he’ll answer them according to his will, not ours.
Still off topic. Stop thumping people with your Bible. It is for them to decide what is God’s will for them and follow it, not for you to tell them whats in your Bible.

Should I go throw my self off the top of a building because I trust in God?
An example of one such error is the hyper-pious notion that if couples really trusted in providence, they would never seek to avoid a child. This simply is not the teaching of the Church. In some cases, “increase in the size of the family would be incompatible with parental duty” ([Karol Wojtyla [**John Paul II
], Love and Responsibility, Ignatius Press, 243). Therefore, avoiding children "in certain circumstances may be permissible or even obligatory" (Karol Wojtyla, Person & Community: Selected Essays, Peter Lang Publishing, p. 293).

Hum… You or the Pope… Let me think a minute.

Personal opinion only here: I would advise that you learn to chart for health purposes. I firmly believe that all women should understand the workings of their bodies from a purely biological perspective.
This is so true. Charting can help diagnose serious medical conditions that may need treatment. It’s how I found out I have PCOS, which is a risk factor for diabetes (due to the insulin resistance it causes).

**OK everyone…we’re starting to get a bit ugly here. 😦 I know we have differences of opinions, but let’s not bash anyone for believing according to their conscience. :nope: **

**Let’s try to get back on topic please, or I will be forced to ask a moderator to close this. 😦 I really don’t want to close a good thing. :nope: 👍 **

It is not the following of conscience I have an issue with, its the telling people that are doing what the church says is okay that they are doing something wrong I have an issue with!

With one beautiful phrase I think this thread will go back on track where you would like it.

Let’s all remember: Don’t feed the trolls! 😃

I agree… there is nothing wrong with stating the facts as LJN21 has done… Shawn34_a seems to be very confused in Catholic church teaching… to state that you must not use NFP to avoid if it is under serious circumstance (such as the mother could die) that is just plain dangerous to make that kind of statement… I don’t see that being a heated debate and I would think the mods can close the thread on their own accord if they see it needs closing… I’ve started threads before and been told by mods that just because I started a thread doesn’t mean I “own” the thread and it is up to them when and if to close a thread.

I personally think this needs to be addressed… and LJN21 has the facts crystal clear and these facts need to be seen by those who don’t know the truth… the church does NOT want a woman to risk her life to have a baby and that is why the church has given us NFP and a woman should never be made to feel guilty because the doctor says no more kids or you could die and she depends on NFP and someone comes along and tells you that your not trusting in God because if you were then you would just not use NFP and if God wants you to live you’ll live and if not you’ll die… that is NOT what our faith teaches us.

I totally agree with you, but I don’t think anything we say will change some people’s opinions. One particular poster doesn’t represent even the minority of people who choose not to practice NFP. I am going to let it go.
