A holy card of our St. Wendelin, Patron of our Parish, has a small note in a box saying “compliments of G… L…” (full name.)
I think it would probably be easy for you to give a talk on your favorite Saints that you think may be overlooked, to the school kids, and then pass out the cards! Or to the Altar Society, etc. Tell your Pastor what you have in mind. I have never seen anything like that at St. W. where holy cards are there for the taking, except for the Parish Patron Saint. People have passed out holy cards, for everyone, for special things like Priests leavings, Consecration of Churches, Prayers for Parish and Diocesan, and Papal, Funerals, and, at school. Usually cards are received in the mail, for Saints, with info of their life in a pamphlet, and, what they are prayed to for. I’ve read the lives of the Saints all through childhood, from a book that we have. I think it helps us deal with adversity, to know how the Saints suffered, and their charity and self effacements.
Thanks for the great post!
