@EllieC and all:
Alright alright alright guys, listen - why are you so afraid? Why is your faith so tremulous now that it may be shaken by one convincing professor?? This isn’t a future problem this is a NOW problem. People are convincing, there are swaying arguments for everything! I work with an atheisty person (he’s not sure) and a strong Protestant - I don’t agree with either of them and they don’t agree with me and we challenge each other accordingly. And it’s HARD! It’s HARD, man!! They have good arguments and facts and patterns and all sorts of stuff that bring doubt!
SO WHAT?! So you research! So you pray! So you remember the truth! So you accept humility and remember that we don’t know everything! My brothers and sisters God is good to us - what could any professor tell us that makes us forget that? It IS scary but that’s all the more reason to address it NOW!
Go to the apologetics threads and read up! Watch Fr. Mike Schmitz! BE NOT AFRAID! People are GOING to present arguments to you that make you question your faith, and even doubt it, AND THAT IS OKAY. “Lord I believe, help my unbelief”, Mark 9:24. Just don’t settle for the fear, or the doubt, or the questions! FIGHT FOR IT! Research, learn, ask, grow deeper!
I’m sure I’m repeating myself a lot but this is drastically important: WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF??? WHY are you afraid? It is NOT going to get easier, my friends, PLEASE address it now when you’re able to form your own opinions outside of college, outside of all these forces the world WILL throw at you - build on rock now, earlier, because the winds only pick up later.
You CAN build at any point in your life my dears, please don’t let me scare you, but why wait??
