I know it’s scary isn’t it?!Never heard of it ( I am a man !!!).
Weird…Some women feel a slight PING, a light sharp pain in the ovary that ovulates on the exact time of ovulation.

Thanks for the advice,Pfaffenhoffen. Yesterday, went for evening Mass on Sunday. Made a commitment/consecration to the sacred heart to hand over my anger to him- and asked him to “take control over my speak” like nana3 suggested (And to be sure to find me a holy/good spouse soon! You know, so my body can calm down and stop demanding babies from me!!So, it has a meaning. But do not complain…you are well…you know that there is chocolate which is bitter…
There are no impure thoughts. A thought is a thought, it is indifferent. Tell you, nature made living creatures desire reproduction, otherwise life would disappear. Those thoughts, sorry to tell you, is your body asking for a baby. It is natural.
But as humans have conditions to reproduce, they are not animals, and as God wanted it in a certain way, there is a clash between the right desires of the body and the right desires of God.
If it was with me, you could punch me in the stomach. Men know that women are nor reliable in humor.
Why not meditation? Sit wherever you want, in a chair. look to a point, relax you body and just let your mind wander and organize itself and your feelings settled down. Do it 5 minutes a day and pray the rosary. Tell me if you feel more at peace.
God Bless You.
Elisabeth- you are so similar to me! I’m taking care of my father who has suffered Dementia for the last seven years (though recently has gotten many more complications),except I do it with my mom as opposed to an older sibling- and I’m struggling to find a good job, and I’m single, and still a Virgin (Proud of it, too!)Not getting our share of chocolate…good way to put it!If you want to, you can pm me. I’ll be praying for you.
Please do…I need to make an appointment with an OB/Gyn who is NFP trained and have a hormone evaluation. I’ll try to remember to come back and post about the findings and results…
Grace helps us to overcome the anger and not give in to the rage. I still get extreme urges to swear, scream, punch people, but I have the ability to not give into it.MaryBeloved,
I had scary rage about 3 days before my flow began when I was 20ish. It is a real hormonal thing, not some spiritual or character flaw. Women who get a huge surge of testosterone for only a day or so each month will not have the same ability to manage the effects as someone who has one increase at puberty like a man. We can seek medical help and try to modify our activities to manage symptoms.
Well, I made the appointment. The earliest I can get in is around Easter! Please do…![]()
THIS.Yes, I have experienced what you are describing. I had my GYN doctor check my hormone levels and they were normal, but she said that I still could get this way before my period. Part of it, is my marriage problems, don’t know your situation, and how things didn’t bother me during the rest of the month, but before my period it did. The doctor told me to buy progestrone cream and use as directed. I have not done that yet. I have gone to confession many times and talked to priest and some think that I use it as an excuse, but this one priest understood and gave me good advice. See when I get into an anger mood and rage, I use to cuss like a sailor. I never use to do that and told this to the priest. The priest told me to repeat this sentence every day, “Lord, take control over my speak.” It has worked. When I get angry or feel anger, I don’t cuss anymore. My anger is not as bad either. I don’t fly into a rage anymore. It was usually during a fight with my dh.
Is is a bad habit or vice? I don’t know. Only you can answer that for you. For me, I did not feel it was a bad habit or vice but hormonal problems for I did not respond to my dh or dd in the same way the rest of the month but only certain times of the month, so it was related to my hormones and period. Can we control some of it? I think so. Yes, the anger inside is real for I have felt it and won’t deny it was not there. I just think the anger is as bad depending on what is going on in your life. In my life, my marriage needs improving, so this factor had to be considered. Also both my husband and I live in chronic pain, another factor that has to be considered. Like I said, things that did not bother me during the rest of the month, bothered me during that period of the month. My dd and dh knew when my period was coming. I felt bad for I how would treat them but worst of all, I hated how I felt inside of me. I hated the person I had become. Do you feel that way? If you do, you are not alone. Do talk to your doctor and have your hormones checked as I did. If it all comes out normal, ask him or her what else you can do and then talk to your priest. Hopefully, you will get a good sympathetic priest and not one that thinks this is all in our head as I had some of those. It is hurtful to us but they are men. The one who understood for me said his mother and sister went through menopause and he understood. So there are some out there. Pray for one who understands. ** Pray that the Lord will take control of your rage and anger too. That helped me so much.** I still may get the feeling inside, but it is more under control and it doesn’t come out in rage anymore. It is so bad for our heart and soul and health. I will pray for you. You are not alone.![]()
This was said by a doctor. My wife felt it only once. I wonder if some more people felt it…I know it’s scary isn’t it?!
Weird…
Umm How about asking does anyone NOT have anger and irritability around ovulation?Do any women here experience rage/extreme anger/irritability around ovulation? As a Christian, how do y’all handle it with families and all? How can you tell its ovulation and not just a bad habit/vice?
Fascinating. I have never seen this happen with my wife.
However, I must say that I do notice that apparently everything I say is funny, clever or interesting at certain times of her cycle. It is at those times, since we are currently in a spacing phase with our kids, that I turn and run. I run ruefully, but I still run.
Amazing to be so similar!Elisabeth- you are so similar to me! Will definitely be pming you,my sister.

I asked about NFP on here a few weeks ago and got recommended to a book, so I’m trying to teach myself, I just started my first chart. I’m actually excited about it, when I do get married, I will have this “down” and it will be one less thing to adjust, sort of, he will need to learn.I wouldn’t go so far as to say I feel “rage” as that time approaches, but I an definitely more irritable, more prone to let stuff that normally wouldn’t bother me blow up into “things to be upset about”, etc. I’ve been working with my NFP counselor to review my charts and we’ve definitely noticed some “patterns” in my daily observations that lead her to believe I might benefit from progesterone therapy. I need to make an appointment with an OB/Gyn who is NFP trained and have a hormone evaluation. I’ll try to remember to come back and post about the findings and results…
Even though you’re single and not sexually active, it might benefit you to try NFP simply for the health benefits. It’s not only for planning or avoiding pregnancies. There’s some real, identifiable information that can assist trained practitioners in helping you figure out your “women’s issues.” I personally use the Creighton Method. Don’t know if other methods have the same benefits. You can find more information at the Pope Paul VI Institute.
MaryBeloved,
I was a police officer in my 20s and I actually asked my shift if they would like a warning after explaining briefly what the problem was. Thankfully, they understood when I explained it in terms of dealing with testosterone. Our signal was that I would sit 2 rows behind the others and alone at briefing (looking somewhat scary according to one of my male friends there). I told them that if they would leave me alone if not delivering offerings of chocolate, then I would be pleased on those days to take mos of the less desireable tasks we normally shared but which I could do alone and generally without much public contact since it was night shift. Additionally, I was called for things where a more aggressive response was likely to be needed like dealing with drunks or fights and generally not sent to calls that required lots of diplomacy as the sole officer.
