Snitsky isn’t on my side of the family. AJ’s dad was my dad’s uncle. Snitsky is on AJ’s mother’s side, so no relation to me.
Gotcha. That’s still a pretty cool connection to have!

A guy I worked with was the nephew of an independent guy named Gypsy Joe. He told me that back in the 70s, one of the independent guys had died around here who used to be in the WWWF. He said at the funeral home, he was about 10 years old and in walked
Andre the Giant! He said he remembered shaking his hand and that Andre’s hand practically engulfed his whole arm past the elbow

Although I did see where HBO is going to do a documentary film on Andre soon, so that should be good. In my estimation, Andre was the best big man ever. Nobody even comes close.

cool! I still remember Andre the Giant in the movie “The Princess Bride” 😃

Like the days of the Undertaker and Shawn Micheals.

Plus, JBL had a cool entrance theme.

I was pretty big into WWE at one time.
Huge fan of DX and the New Age Outlaws with all of their antics.
Haven’t kept up with WWE in years though.

Back when I was in high school, I got to work a WWF house show.
Got to take drinks and food to the wrestlers.
Saw King Kong Bundy, Jake the Snake, One of the British Bulldogs, Roddy Piper, and more.
I remember going into the locker room and drop off some sodas and hotdogs and I see all these guys together…
I’m thinking wait… you guys hate each other, what’s going on.:D:D

That’s what you call “killing kayfabe” 😃

Those days are long gone. In fact, a lot of old school wrestlers go on Youtube to be interviewed and reveal everything that ever happened. And they can talk too! Some of those shows hit three hours easy. But to hear all of the road stories and everything from that generation is supremely fascinating.

Here’s a link to Rowdy Roddy Piper telling one funny story!

LOL… you have no idea!!
I didn’t know what to think.
Messed me up, LOL.

That youtube clip was funny.
Trying to imagine his story, hahaha.

On a sad note, can’t believe George the Animal Steele passed away yesterday.
Sad, grew up watching him in the ring.
RIP George.

Yeah, I saw that in the news. From all the interviews I’ve seen with and about him, George the Animal Steele was a first class gentleman.

I was a big fan back in the 80s, got into it again in the late 90s, stopped watching in the early 00s but still follow it casually via a couple websites due to a friend who won’t talk about anything else. If I was still a hardcore fan I would absolutely love the WWE Network. The lats time I was really into it, we were get at least 4-5 pay-per-views each year. Compared to that, $10/month is phenomenal. Oddly enough, I know a handful of hardcore fans who refuse to get it because they somehow see it as a bad thing. I don’t get that.

Is it just me or is Wrestlemania’s card this year kind of a bummer?
