IDK what a gibbon is, but assuming it’s some kind of animal, why cannot both these realities be true?
  1. God created man
  2. Man evolved from prior organisms

I honestly have no idea why there is any argument. The Church is clear that it’s okay for Catholics to believe that man has evolved. Proof has been given. Some posters are arguing for the sake of arguing.
 
It is dogmatic Catholic teaching that God does not look like anything, because God does not have parts. He is spirit. He is not material in any way.

I was watching a presentation on TV showing a theory of planet formation. Basically, particles floating in space collect into a disc around a star. Once this disc is large enough, it begins to spin and become denser, drawing in more particles. The disc then becomes a molten ball that cools, and generates water and chemicals that combine to form life from non-life.
