Okay, she’s not a Catholic and I AM a Catholic,
but I gotta tell you, I thoroughly enjoy watching Joyce Meyer’s
Enjoying Everyday Life program.

With wit and humor and a bit of self-deprecation, this woman
delivers a daily dose of practical biblical wisdom for daily living.
Sometimes she even causes me to bust out laughing.

I really like Joyce Meyer.
Is anybody else here a fan of hers?

God bless,

not a fan but have nothing against her…but I do not enjoy any women preachers as for me they tend to be shrill.

How do you feel about Abundant Life?
I have yet to watch it, but I get this vision of Joyce Meyer when I see the ads on EWTN.

PLEASE correct me if I am crazy 😃

Oh I don’t find Joyce Meyer “shrill” at all, not in the least.
The woman has a lot on the ball, so to speak.
She’s a GREAT motivational speaker.

Joyce Meyer is pretty good. Much better than Dr. Laura:yawn:.

She is from the St. Louis area, well liked here. There was some controversy a while back on how wealthy she is…but could just be jealousy, I never paid a lot of attention to it.

Here is an interesting link from a local paper the St. Louis Post Dispatch. They are well know for being very liberal so not sure how anti Christian they are.

For some reason I think I’d enjoy her (or rather even watch/listen to her) just once if I could get over the fact that my SIL totally raves about Joyce Meyer and my SIL has bashed me to the ends of the earth about being Catholic. So for me I have this odd “connection” of the two people and I just can’t seem to get past it, kwim?

Is she really a “preacher” or is she like Joanne Benchovik (I know I spelled that wrong :o )

Hi,

I like how honest and no holds bar she is!! Sometimes we need a kick in the pants:D

I have one of her books, but havent read it yet:o I have so many books I start to read and then get sidetracked and dont finish.:o

She is a good motivational speaker:thumbsup:

Hi,
Off topic, but I will be in St. Charles on Sunday visiting family:D

OK back to topic:thumbsup:

I’m going to break the pattern here I guess. I can’t stand more than a few minutes of Joyce Meyer! I’ve tried several times because I know she is one the current, trendy speakers, but I can’t stomach her or her messages. She always looks angry when she speaks, and I’ve heard her more than once elude to the fact that *‘you too can be as successful as I am if you just have as much faith as I do’.

*Her theology is very superficial. From the - granted - very few times and minutes I’ve watched her, she seems to be 90% motivational speaker (for lack of a better word) and 10% (very thin) theology. I often wonder if she has had any theology training?

Sorry to be so hard on her - but she is one person that can push my buttons for some reason!

My wife likes her…has 3-4 books by her.

Me…mezza mezza I suppose:shrug:

I really like Joyce Meyer and have read several of her books…“Battlefield of the Mind” is her best! She teaches from scripture and makes it relevant to daily life. She also seems very honest about her own life and her personal shortcomings.

I really like her too.
We get her on the ACC channel here in Australia. I find her very to be very good at motivational speaking. I dont agree with everything she says however, but she does a good job at motivational things.

Does she have a TV or radio program? The only thing I have heard about her is the Inductive Bible study method, which I am not familiar with. I’ve seen some of her books on Christian Book.com’s website. Please tell me more about her and provide some links so I can research her myself.

Is Joyce Meyers going to be preaching at the service in St. Charles? If she is, please let us know what she says.

If I had not had Joyce Meyers to read, watch on tv, and cds to listen to, when I was going thru my divorce 3 years ago, I know I would have committed suicide. She let me know God loves me as I am, warts and all. No one is perfect, but God forgives. Everyone can live a blessed life. She brought me back to God. Then after much searching thru different religions, here I am. A happy, healthy, well adjusted Catholic. She taught me how to live life again and told me that God will put me thru these trials so that I can become the person He wants me to be.

In my book, she’s a life saver! Catholic or not, SHE ROCKS!!! 👍

She is a good speaker, but she and many like her have some heretical beliefs in regards to creation, the dual nature of Christ, Atonement, and the Trinity (a lot of modalism comes through).

So this Methodist is not a Meyer fan.

Not exactly on the ball theologically speaking, but she certainly got me excited again about Christianity and, indirectly speaking, back into the Catholic Church - should write and thank her for that 👍 😃

I have to agree with O.S. Luke. I am not a fan of JM. She is a part of the new fangled ‘health and wealth’ crowd. If she were selling a product like Amway (or pick a product sold door to door, nothing against Amway), she would probably be doing a good job. However this is the same kind of treatment she gives to the Bible and God…it’s like she’s selling a product.

There are also many excellent preachers/apologists, both Catholic and Protestant, that warn against this new health and wealth teaching; it is definitely heretical. 😦

Could you elaborate?
