Anybody have a Holy Spirit experience?

I don’t know if I have or haven’t.

My mother passed away a little over a year ago. I’ve never been overly upset at funerals because I truly believe in an afterlife of salvation. There was a point during the funeral mass, during the homily, when what I can only describe as tears of joy flooded my eyes (but I didn’t actually cry because boys don’t).

I felt overwhelmed with joy. I knew without a doubt. What did I know?

I’m not really sure what I knew or experienced, but I do remember an overwhelming calm joyfulness, or joyful calmness for a few moments.

My sister said it was God. Maybe it was the Holy Spirit. Who knows? 🤔😎
 
That’s interesting. My next door neighbor is an elderly lady who told me how she also lost her mom and missed her very much and then had an experience at her church (she is Baptist or some sort of evangelical) where she similarly became powerfully aware her mom was in Heaven. It sounded very much like what you just said.

This is great blessings, but somehow not all Christians have fruits of Holy Spirit. We should have another topic about the divine morale goodness.
 
I also experienced chastisement, absolution and grace.

This was when the saying “You shall learn the truth and the truth shall set you free.” really came alive for me.
 
I have this neck brace flash light thing that I got for Christmas.
It’s to read a book at night with - without using a lamp.
It’s like a horse shoe - with little light bulbs on the end.

I keep it by my bed, on the floor, so if I have to go the bathroom, to use it as a flashlight.
Battery went. So haven’t bothered using it for weeks.

I awoke a few nights ago - in the dark night -
And it was on my divine mercy tapestry - lights on !
It looked so cool !
I feel the Spirit was telling me to pray more maybe…
I will post a photo of what I saw…

I probably shouldn’t be sharing this…
But it was way too cool of a recent event !

I’ve experienced ecstasies and trances while gazing upon our crucified Lord and meditating upon the Rosary.
 
Yes and it was wonderful. After long suffering and searching…
sitting in my living room alone on the couch. talking to God. Is this it? Is this all there is in my life? This is life? This can’t be all there is. Then a warmth came over me from the top of my head, it settled upon and softly washed me as it fell down my body. I felt HEALING. that is what i felt so clearly. I was being HEALED. It was an undeniable feeling of peace, calm, serenity, healing. My life changed. I’ve asked the Holy Spirit to let me feel His presence again. Ask and you shall receive, seek and ye shall find. It is so true. I was feeding a 102 year old lady in her apartment and LOVE entered my being. As I felt LOVE I thanked Him for allowing me another precious moment to feel His presence. I let the feeling whisper over and through me while feeding her and thanking Him over and over. When it happens to you try to stay in the moment/be present to His gift as long as you can. Thank you my King. I love You.
 
I really just call it an ecstasy, I’m not sure if it’s the same experience that the saints had. A wave of awe hits me and I freeze while it feels like air has been sucked out yet breathed into my lungs. That’s what puts me in a trance.
 
You are extremely fortunate yourself, you are not dead inside. You are searching and sharing with us in Catholic Living. How quickly we get replies and help from others herein. Try to ask and you shall receive, seek and you will find.Ask the Holy Spirit to burn His fire within you. Ask Him for His gifts. Then wait upon. I thought something was wrong with me and how blessed others were…then it happened to me at age 58.
 
My mom used to tell a story about someone giving her a fluorescent Jesus statue back when fluorescent stuff was new and she didn’t realize it would glow in the dark. The first time she went in her dark room and saw glowy Jesus, she thought it was a miracle.
 
Wonderful. I witnessed several holy miracles of the Divine Mercy picture before.

My dream vision about angel Cherub happened last night after I had prayed the DM chaplet few times. This reminds me the Isaiah’s gospel does not against Catholic dogma.

The Holy Spirit truly helped this.

One thing more I’d like to add - I don’t seek for experiences.
Things happen…here and there…and I smile within…
Sometimes…it’s no picnic, as they say.
Two sides of the Holy Spirit coin.
 
A dream angel !

A cherub is a powerful angel for protecting christians.

Saint Faustina prayed to Jesus that her convent would be protected during the war.

Walking out the gates one day she saw a cherub above their main gate with a face like lightning, and she heard Jesus say: ‘Why does it surprise you that when you asked for protection that I send a cherub to keep you all safe? No harm shall befall you. He shall watch those gates night and day.’

This is the experience that charismatics call “baptism in the HS”. It is as if one has been dipped in His presence, and one’s soul is transformed as a cucumber is changed to pickle. One begins to experience the charismata and the fruit of the Spirit.
 
Angel came to protect my sleeping because I had defended our Lord Jesus Christ and the Trinity God. Holy Spirit opened my eyes [a must] in order to see holy Cherub was guarding. Then Holy God taught me about angel Cherub [normally we can not see holy Cherub without Holy Spirit’s permission blessing] and Isaiah gospel and reminded me to correct my omitting about Divine Mercy prayer before the vision.
