^ Dude, all the examples you used (elves, yetis, aliens, etc) are myths which dont even fit in the islamic description of Jinns.

The islamic jinns only exist in books and not in reality.

Well only they can harm human with to possess in their body. Nothing else. And those are bad jinn and jinni. I do not know if they have super powers. But may be they have. Read Charles Post Bible or Quran I donot know which Verses he post from.

Actually, it’s HUMANS, and not just “human souls”, as we are beings with bodies and souls which are separated for a time but which will be reunited eventually, but that’s just nit-picking on my part.

If “djinn/djeenie/BarbaraEdens” have attributes/behaviors which are limited to ONLY those of angels/demons(aka fallen angels), then they are only misinterpretations of the manifestations of angels and demons.

So, what are the differences in attributes/behaviors between “djinns” and angels/demons? Tomshaikh, since I know nothing about these creatures, please tell me about them in terms of their attributes/behaviors which SEEM to differ from angels and demons? Thanks!
I do not know and experienced single in my whole life. Only I have believe in because of Quran. You can type in yahoo or google about jinn. I hope they have it there according to Islamic faith of view. You Are Welcome

Welcome Back Guyz With New Thread For You All

Do you believe on Jin and Jinni Or Didn’t. Anyone experiences and feel their presents. I am not talking about Satan and Devil.
When I lived in Saudi Arabia, we got a djinn in our house. Our vacuum cleaner used to quit working in one room of the house. My dad would take it apart, find nothing wrong with it, put it back together and voilà, it would work again. It didn’t matter which room you started with, it would always stop working in this one room. Our houseboy, who was Saudi and studying to be a mullah, told us that a djinn was responsible, that it was living in that room and it didn’t like the noise of the vacuum cleaner. He said his sister knew what to do about it and with my father’s approval, he had his sister get together the things needed to get rid of it.

There were seven grains of rice, seven of this and seven of that, a few others things I don’t remember and a fresh unfertilised egg. I, as the only unmarried female in the household, was required to dig a hole about 18 inches deep outside the back door and bury this stuff.

The djinn was banished and the activity stopped - or at least the original activity. It didn’t banish it altogether, it just moved to the bathroom and would throw the toilet seat down if it was left up. It wouldn’t just over-balance and fall, it would slam down, with no one in the house anywhere near the bathroom. The toilet seat did not do this before. It could be left up and it would stay there until someone moved it. Mom said it must be a female djinn and never did anything further to get rid of it cause she liked having the seat always down. Visitors wouldn’t know and would leave it up. They’d be sitting in the living room chatting and the sound would startle them. Mom would say, “That’s just our djinn. She doesn’t like the seat left up.”, perfectly dead-pan, straight-faced and matter-of-fact.

This was my introduction to the occult. Djinns are spirits, the type we are to have nothing to do with. I started things off by participating in a spell to get rid of one and then, at boarding school, I went further, learning how to read palms and cards to tell fortunes, holding séances and using ouija boards, trying to find out the future.

This was a very big mistake. Never, never, never do this. Do not try to contact djinn, or spirits or anything like that. You will not like what you get. Do not try to get rid of them with spells. That only mires you deeper. Casting spells is participating in evil. Evil cannot cast out evil. It only makes you think you’ve succeeded but all that has happened is that you have chosen to do evil so the oppressor is happy and leaves you alone for a while. Don’t be fooled. He will always be back.

Tomshaikh, be warned about djinns. Islam may teach that there are some good djinns, whatever kind of spirits they are, but I don’t believe this at all. They are all evil and the so-called good ones are only masquerading to lead you astray. Our djinn did nothing but move the toilet seat. It was ‘good’, but the very fact of its existence got me interested in what it was and what else ‘lived’ in the spirit realm. That led me deeper and deeper until I called up a demon with my ouija board. Believe me, you don’t want to do that. Even though it has been 38 years since it happened and 28 years since I became Christian, it still comes round every so often to test me. This is a door that is very difficult to close, once opened.

Personally, I think that what we experienced with the vacuum cleaner falls into the category of poltergeist but we were told by a practicing Muslim that it was a djinn. It was the dining room it was infesting, which according to legend, means that it was feeding on the food in the dining room, the crumbs that fall from the table, the bowl of fruit in the center. Legend says they also infest rubbish tips and sewers, feeding on the refuse, so the toilet fits in with the legend, too. I think all that stuff about djinns in the Qu’ran is just a rehash of popular beliefs about the spirit world that existed in Arabia at the time of Mohammed. I don’t think we know much about what they really are. We’ll find out after we die.

When I lived in Iran, I witnessed a strange weather phenomenon. They would get whirlwinds that would hold their cohesion and stability for a long time. On an otherwise clear day, they would start on the ground and pick up lots of dirt, then rise up to about 1,000 -2,000 feet in the air, a dust-devil transversing the sky. I can see how they decided that these were djinn.

Someone early on gave some good advice - Have nothing whatsoever to do with these things. Even discussing them can cause people problems. I’m just discussing this to warn people. They are the gate to hell and they will suck you in, especially if you think any of them are ‘good’.

Keep your mind and heart on things of God.

I have read jinn can live in stones, beheld in stones when suitable hosts are not found.

They can be controlled by prayers and spells. Any that hear will know by this statement we cant control them.

In Catholic parishes it is real common to see parishioners touch, kiss and pray before statues. Considering they worship not idols those with eyes that see may assume.

May God / Allah keep us all in His safe custody and save us from all evil beings.

dear tomshaikh,my muslim grand father told me that sura jinn is very harmfull for jinns!but muslims claim that there are both muslim jinn&kafir jinn!so wat do you think?is sura jinn also harmful for muslim jinns?if yes then thats not fair to a muslim.cuz whole quran is muslim scripture.i am sorry for muslim jinns.lol.so quran is harmfull for some muslims?(muslim jinns)ahaa…

Dear Steven,

That is why Jesus say that we should judge other people easily, because there is only one absolute standard, which is God standard. The standard of God cannot be interpreted according to human taste so easily either.

Linda Marie,

I agree with all your observation. Invoking jinn/bad spirits is WIDESPREAD in the Middle East that our local Christian channels always warns against it. We call these people who invoke them “sheikh”…not that they are scholar Muslims, but that’s what they are called. Some of them will either invoke or cast a spell using the Quran, and many people fall for what they’re doing, thinking that spells/spirits will remove the bad spirits,or will grant their wishes, or will tell them the future…and they end up having all kind of weird stuff put under their bed, in their drinks, on the doorstep, in the closet, to “ward off” the harm, only to find out at the end that they became either possessed, or attacked by these demons. Demons do not attack demons, they masquerade as such to make people believe they are safe, and later they take possession of these people because they opened the door. A spell is not removed by a spell. What these Muslims did to you was really bad and dangerous, and thank God you realized it.

Am saying all this out of personal experience with many of these people, or from watching the same situations on TV , and many of these people where lead eventually to the Church priests for excorcism.

There is nothing called good jinn. Good spirits are not invoked. Good jinn are bad ones masquerading as good in order to fool humans, and the Bible warns about these practices and inferior spirits

Well you have to believe on them if you believe on Prophet Solomon coz he was the Prophet for Jinn. Demon is more like bad human I guess. I do not know the defination of Demon. Angels are not made of fire. Satans are and I guess not Jinn. I miss quote about jinn that they made up of fire.

ATTN: How Do You All Visitors Like This Thread Discussion So Far And How Many You Are Not Familiar With Jinn and Jinni.
Very interesting with the Solomon reference. Also a Demon would be a devil or perhaps what you are calling satans. As to liking the thread subject yes I do enjoy these sorts of discussions. I think its interesting to hear ideas from other parts of the world. Especially since your talking about ideas from such an ancient part of the world.

I’ve heard also a similar concept, where the demon would ask the other demon (if he is lower in ranking than him) to suspend or reduce his evil work on that person, in exchange for more evil work on new persons.

Hi

I don’t think Jinn or Jinni exist as a super-natural beings; who could harm or benefit human being as is sometimes mentioned in the fiction story books of the children or narrated by the superstituous phsycholigical weak persons. Quran does mentions about QuranicJinns however; but that has got nothing to do with that I have mentioned earlier in this passage.Quran does not mention Jinns definitely among the five pillars of Islam; there is no mention of a Jinni in Quran, to my knowledge. Any Muslim belief must originate in Quran the foremost and primary source of guidance of Islam, undoubtedly.

This is my viewpoint, others could happily differ with me with reasons.

Thanks

Hi brother/freind swariffin!

Kindly quote from **Gospel of Jesus **or from Quran where he says what you have mentioned above.

Thanks

Hi

I think it is all superstition of the phsychlogically week persons. It is not a question of being a Muslim or a Christian or perhaps Wicca.

But Jinn is not allowed by Allah to come infront of us because of their haunted appearence.
That is not right, Jinns can come infron of people and can take a human form, read these Hadiths:

- Jinns can steal physical objects.
  • Volume 4, Book 54, Number 533: *
    " *Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
The Prophet said, “Cover your utensils and tie your water skins, and close your doors and keep your children close to you at night, as the Jinns spread out at such time and snatch things away. When you go to bed, put out your lights, for the mischief-doer (i.e. the rat) may drag away the wick of the candle and burn the dwellers of the house.” Ata said, “The devils.” (instead of the Jinns). *"
    (E)
    (A)
- Jinns eat bones and the animal dungs.
  • Volume 5, Book 58, Number 200:
    Narrated Abu Huraira:
That once he was in the, company of the Prophet carrying a water pot for his ablution and for cleaning his private parts. While he was following him carrying it(i.e. the pot), the Prophet said, “Who is this?” He said, “I am Abu Huraira.” The Prophet said, “Bring me stones in order to clean my private parts, and do not bring any bones or animal dung.” Abu Huraira went on narrating: So I brought some stones, carrying them in the corner of my robe till I put them by his side and went away. When he finished, I walked with him and asked, “What about the bone and the animal dung?” He said, “They are of the food of Jinns. The delegate of Jinns of (the city of) Nasibin came to me–and how nice those Jinns were–and asked me for the remains of the human food. I invoked Allah for them that they would never pass by a bone or animal dung but find food on them.” *
    (E)
    (A)
-** Jinns can take a human form.**
  • Musnad Ahmad ibn-Hanbal:
Prophet Muhammed was passing by people harvesting salvadora persica, then one Jinn man gave him salvadora persica, then prophet Muhammed said to him if I was on ablution, then I would have eaten it.*

Hi

I won’t comment on the Bible part; it contains all sorts of mythical narratives from the anonymous scribes. What Quran mention with reference to Solomon is altogether a different phenomenon which has been often misunderstood.

Thanks

I am sorry brother. Correction. I missed the word “not”. I mean that we should NOT judge people so easily.

I believe in a nice, tall, cool and refeshing glass of Jin and tonic 🙂 Does that count? :P.

yes I realize that “gin” is spelled with a “g”

-** Jinns can take a human form.**
  • Musnad Ahmad ibn-Hanbal:
Prophet Muhammed was passing by people harvesting salvadora persica, then one Jinn man gave him salvadora persica*, then prophet Muhammed said to him if I was on ablution, then I would have eaten it.

Muhammad had close connection with Jinn…he spent a day with them…he even had a companion jinn…

of course he said it was a good one 😉

BUKHARI

Narrated Muhammad bin Sirin: Abu Huraira said, “Allah’s Apostle put me in charge of the Zakat of Ramadan (i.e. Zakat-ul-Fitr). Someone came to me and started scooping some of the foodstuff of (Zakat) with both hands. I caught him and told him that I would take him to Allah’s Apostle.” Then Abu Huraira told the whole narration and added "He (i.e. the thief) said, 'Whenever you go to your bed, recite the Verse of “Al-Kursi” (2.255) for then a guardian from Allah will be guarding you, and Satan will not approach you till dawn.’ " On that the Prophet said, "He told you the truth, though he is a liar, and he (the thief) himself was the Satan."

satan was telling people to recite the Quran. Seems he was not bothered with it.
