Ironic thing was, my niece was the only one who asked why we couldn’t go forward to receive the Eucharist. I told her you had to be a member of the church to do that. She said that I was able to have it at my old church, so why not here? I told her I was thinking about changing churches, that this church was more fulfilling to me. My sister asked what was with the metal book and the “Jesus stick” that they brought in during the Mass.

Praise God! They are inquiring, which indicates their hearts are seeking. This is GOOD, as it leads only to God.

I’m 45 years old, I came in last year so the timing is the same for both of us, and I still identify myself as a convert! My reason for still feeling like a new convert is that there is still so much to learn, and I still feel like everything is brand new territory, nothing seems familiar to me yet, I just don’t feel completely Catholic yet. I mean I do think like a Catholic, doctrinally, but ceremony and tradition is still so foreign, I don’t feel Catholic in that way yet. I don’t know how long that is going to take!

My point is, don’t think your age has been a factor or a down side to your conversion, there is going to be an adjustment period for all of us.

In a way I hope the newness stays.
Too many people get in a rut.
