Anyone else dealing with election fallout?

She is Hispanic and an ex-Catholic atheist. I understand why she campaigned for Hillary and did not expect anything else of her, but it’s extremely hurtful to be attacked for not voting the same way. I did not even explicitly express for whom I voted, so she must have assumed.

Based on seeing what I liked on Facebook, I guess? Which was more anti Hillary and anti hysteria than anything pro Trump.

Aside from my parents and myself, the entire family is extremely liberal. I hope no one else decides political loyalty is more important. I’ve never been outspoken to relatives about politics and it’s bizarre that a few comments led to this.

I have close relatives who have said their 2nd grade duaghters came home and asked if Trump was going to send her adopted sister from Central America (who has been here for years) back there. How does a 2nd grade even come to that conclusion unless her family is feeding her stuff a 2nd grader cannot grasp and 2) and stuff that is either total fabrication or a ridiculous exaggeration of reality. It is totally laughable and the only sane response is to laugh at it. My relative said she fought back tears trying to answer. Holy cow what have we come to?

I get the disappointment by Hillary supporters. I get the fear of a change of direction in many policies. And I get the absolute loathing of Trump and what he has said. But to now live in fear that racism and sexism is going to reign supreme is simply irrational.

My daughter summed it up nicely, “Everybody is like, “I’m so scared and afraid.” Trump is just one person, all of American is not just going to suddenly turn against you. This is why we have a system of checks and balances. Trump doesn’t hold all the power—yeesh, so much overreacting.”

I think we have become a nation that is become enslaved by our emotions. We are offended by everything, we value self esteem above all, trophies for simply showing up. I think we have become ill-equipped to deal with things rationally.

That’s one reason why I’ve refused to discuss whom I was voting for (er, more like voting against), or even politics in general. No one needs to know except me, God, and the voting machine. Saves a lot of arguments and aggravation.

I think they need to pay attention what their kids are being told in school. A lot of schools today are not focused on real learning so much as political activism.

Policy-wise, the interest is in getting rid of felons who are here illegally, not adopted children.

No…what this minister is saying is not true. It is a reflection of the liberal media and the Clinton campaign. If any of these hurt, protesting, whiny people would take the time to actually do their own research on the platforms of each candidate, they would not be so upset.

I’ve have unfriended people, one a relative, and blocked others who were so ignorant in their claims about the state of the nation after the election. I’ve remained friends with family & friends who disagree with my political opinions but are mature enough to recognize we are all entitled to our own views.

I’m concerned about how many school children think the sky is falling. He hasn’t even done anything yet, and they’re in sackcloth and ashes. Don’t they teach children that we have a system of checks and balances any more? People are taking to the streets, too. It is nuts.

No fan of either candidate but the U.S. was losing its moral compass fast! Hopefully this is the righting of the ship!

I agree. We kept the TV off and yet my poor son was still exposed to her **** on YouTube…and he watching physics and chemistry shows. While watching football, we saw a whole 2 Trump ads.

These protests are only going to solidify gains made in the rust belt. Personally, I hope Soros burns through his entire fortune on this. It’s such a horrible investment.

I’ve had the same experience. Family members have unfriended me on social media because of our political differences. There is a silver lining–I no longer see their vitriolic posts!

How they behave in person will be tested at Thanksgiving; I’m just focusing on being charitable and not discussing politics.

I have unfriended one person. They called anyone who disagreed with them an idiot. This election brought out all the crazys on both sides.
