Thank you!!!Oh, in the heat of the battle we must have let it slip by.
Congratulations on giving up Licking Your Tailpipe. I for one, think it is very commendable.

picky picky!I bet you canāt wait till lent is over so you can get back to licking your tailpipe.
But - how does that reduce carbon?
Geeshā¦my 3 german shepherds are glad I donāt buy into that nonsense!I did see an analysis that concluded that giving up your pet would reduce carbon by more than driving an SUV. I loved that one. Non of the tree huggers would go for it though.
By the way, I have a BIG SUV for hauling around my 8 carbon producing children. Iām proud of my large carbon footprint!
Seriously, we need to take reasonable steps to take care of the environment, but this hysterical nonsense is just a big get rich quick scheme by Al Gore, the governement, and businesses hoping to capitalize on green technologies.
Technically, that would be a carbon thumbprint. If itās a footprint, your parish priest is doing it wrongā¦
Thatās funnyā¦I hadnāt even thought of the boot to the head song!
āRemember, man, that thou art dustā¦boot to the head!ā (SH-ZOOMP!)

2. Turn down your thermostat by at least one degree.
- This is obviously a plot to let Americans do less than their fair share. While we turn down our thermostats one degree Celsius, you turn yours down one degree Fahrenheit. Plus, changing our thermostat from 20° to 19°Celsius is a 5% reduction in temp; while you guys going from 68° to 67°F is a reduction of only 1.4%.
- Go meat Free today.
- Doesnāt eating cabbage, beans, lentils, etc add to carbon emissions?
- Carpool bike or walk, today.
- Youāll notice he didnāt mention public transit.
- As for walking, I remember a āParticipactionā (Canada Fitness) commercial from the 70s; the theme was āWalk a Block a Dayā. Farmer is out standing in front of a grain silo on the Prairie. He says of the program, āItās a plot against the West. Out here, our blocks are a mile long. Back East, theyāre about as long as a catās leg!ā
- Collect āgrey waterā to water the plants.
- Does this include whizzing on trees outdoors? Or am I supposed to take them in the shower with me?
- Check windows/doors for leaks.
- Especially on submarines.
- Turn off appliances not used for over an hour.
- The only appliances in my house that are āonā (besides my 'puter which goes into āsleepā mode after 15 minutes) are the digital clocks-- which are useless if you donāt keep them plugged in ā and the fridge. And if I unplug that, it makes #15 kind of dicey.
- Turn off water while scrubbing dishes. Take a shower instead of a bath.
- Why are these two together? Are people doing dishes in the shower?
- Save water ā bathe with a friend!
- Let your dishwasher breathe.
- If you have a dishwasher, why are you scrubbing dishes? And how do you let it ābreatheā? Run it with the door open?
- Buy locally grown food.
- Right, because the locally-grown produce in places like, oh, Baffin Island is so plentiful and better than imported.
- Well, I know Iām not overly fond of the locally-produced pineapplesā¦which are actually potatoes!*
- Use reusable bags, for groceries.
- Shoulnāt that be, āRe-use reusable bagsā¦ā? I mean, if you just keep using new reusable bags all the timeā¦
- Turn washing machine to ācold/coldā.
- Or wear your clothes in the shower! :newidea:
- Speak out, make leaders take climate action now.
- So can I order God, the ultimate leader, to stop making it rain on the just as well as the unjust?
- Turn off lights.
- I do! But then Dad turns them back on and sends my girlfriend homeā¦
- Donāt waste food. Eat leftovers.
- Consider composting.
- So what do I do with the leftovers? Eat them or compost them? Chee!
- Pick up one piece of litter on the ground.
- OKā¦just pulled a āVote Democratā sign from someoneās lawn (thank me later).
- Donāt fly when traveling.
- Obviously he sees a problem with illegal immigrationā¦from Australiaā¦
Pets are Godās creatures. I cannot speak for anyone else in this forum, but every morning and every night I thank God for his three gifts to me, the three cats I have adopted. This is especially easy since every morning when I wake up, and every evening before I fall asleep (but after Complin), Fluffy is on my chest, rubbing her face against mine, purring up a storm. Iād rather have that then a SUV.:heaven:I
