Anyone notice the irony here: Catholics criticising Muslims and Islam on this forum

Catholics and the Church are bombarded with insults by the wider society, and yet many of us are more interested in criticising Islam and its followers. Many of you are saying how illogical and unbelievable Islam is, yet have nothing to say in answer to the same charges being pressed against you by atheists.

The thing is, many of you seem to be claiming to be devout Catholics. Yeah right. I hope you guys don’t expect those oh so sarcastic atheists that post here to start believing in Catholicism after reading the trash that gets posted here.

Why don’t we unite against secularism? Or is that a stupid idea? We all worship the one God after all. The CCC says so. Or is the CC wrong about that?

christianity’s mortal enemy is islam, not secularism. afterall, a non-practicing christian is secular. you wouldnt want to attack your own. you dont want a civil war.

Good point…And just so ya know…I don’t have a problem with Muslims…I have a problem with terrorist…Good thread…

The vast majority of Catholics are united…

and most terrorists are muslims, not secular catholics.

Christianity’s only official enemy is the devil. Perhaps there is more chance that the devil is behind the removal of God from society, than Muslims convertnig Christians.

At least Muslims acknowledge that they are nothing in the sight of God, and they seek to serve Him, at least in the capacity they were brought up with, whether right or wrong.

BTW, as hard as it may be to believe, a Muslim is a child of God too.

What is more dangerous than a devil who masquerades as an angel of light (islam)?

at least those secular catholics are sending those babies straight to limbo. islamist terrorists are sending a lot of people to hell. which also makes hell on earth.

Well, you are entitled to your opinion. I personally don’t agree with it. If you don’t mind Agnos, I dare say that there is more chance that the CC is the true Church than a masquerading devil appearing to Muhammed dictating a book of lies. If you believe the latter, then you should seriously consider what the CC teaches.

theologicall speaking, murder is wrong because it prematurely ends a person’s life. now most of us have unconfessed/unrepented sins…being killed prematurely denies us the opportunity to change. and theologically speaking, a person who dies in sin have a much a greater chance landing in hell.

Right…However, most gang members (America’s terrorists) and other lawbreakers and predators are secular…

In the last 40 years, gangs in America have murdered more people, than Al-Qaeda. I don’t know why they are not considered a terrorist organization…both are bad…and both need to be defeated…

This is not a “religious problem”, it is a criminal problem…and they both are, by their actions, organizations, which have declared war against the people of the United States and are both, enemies of all Americans.

All those who murder innocent people, and who support those organizations that murder innocent people, are enemies of God.

Note: I used the term “murder”, which is the unlawful killing of another…

criminals can be quite religious too. and there are criminals in the muslim world as well.
 
I think I can bring up some main points to remember for this thread to be any use. To highlight:
  1. That Catholics and Muslims believe in the one God and in the supernatural, unlike the general secular society. And that we face ridicule, and sometimes opposition, to our beliefs from within secular societies.
  2. That Islam and Christianity are allies against influence of atheism.
  3. That Muslims have not sinned “more” than Catholics and vice versa. We are all sinners.

Yeah, but that doesnt mean the adult was more important than the unborn child.

Hello again AgnosTheist,

I think I do…If you are talking about abortion…abortion is one case, where murder has become legal. Abortion is the “mass murder” of many innocent people and abortionist’s are the enemy of God and God’s people; it is “terrorism” against the unborn.

I pray for the end of all abortions.

I also pray for an end of all terrorism… in all its forms!

I tend to be critical of Islam on here, but not in the same way that others have been. I tend ot want dialog and understanding. Yes, I have issues with Islamic Fundamentalism, but so do some Muslims.

Ive heard (don’t know for a fact) that the Scandinavian countries are some of the more secualr countries. And they are: Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. I also think Japan is fairly secular. Sorry, Ive named five. Why are u asking anyway?
