Hi all ,

Is there anyone here who is a strong conservative catholic, who believes in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal, who reads the lives of the saints and is a bookworm, Who has been to Medjugorje, Who would like to be my online penpal, ☺️

I am a strong conservative catholic in the following:
-No use of bad language,
-Fashion should be modest (shoulders and above knees/ below neck should be covered generally, Pre Vatican II believed in this, many of the Popes pre Vatican II stated this),
-the usual modern movies, books, music, tv, magazines, that suggest the sexual act being committed or explicit romance, Is grave matter, and has led the world into sexual deviation of contraception, divorces, adultery, fornication, cohabition, and abortion,

Just adding,
Catholic Forums also allows a number of multiple members to join a mailbox conversation here,

So if a few fellow catholics share my catholic viewpoints (of conservative catholicism, catholic charismatic renewal interest, medjugorje pilgrim in the past) we can have our own thread amongst ourselves and simply add to the conversation whenever a member of the group is online, Sharing books we have read, interesting quotes, Scripture passages, How God has helped us during the week, Inspiring youtube videos we have come across, etc…

That’s rather a stringent set of requirements.

It might be more interesting and fulfilling to have a pen pal who is different to you (within reasons - no pen arguments!).

No one is unloading hate on you. I just made the observation that your requirements are quite comprehensive. Also, I have found that interesting conversations can come from talking to people very different to you.

Having been to a specific pilgrimage site narrows your search a lot but in an interesting and maybe positive way.

The dresscode made me laugh. Hold on, I have to go change clothes so I can write to my penpal! 😁

Good luck. I hope you find what you are seeking. Penpals are fun!

Who has been to Medjugorje
Don’t pin any hopes on Medjugorie. It is a hoax.
The Church has already declared that there is no evidence of any supernatural happenings there. This valid decision remains in force unless it is overturned by the CDF.I expect it to be confirmed by the CDF.

Who would like to be my online penpal,
I would be interested except that I’m not Catholic and can barely find time for the forum. However, I do hope you are able to find one or two people who will be both edifying and able to help expand your understanding of the faith. The latter is, of course, a two way street. 🙂

No accusations of hate Mom,

Just asking people to be respect that I have very conservative catholic beliefs mentioned above (as I know my own grandparents generation, and saints such as Padre Pio had very conservative beliefs).

Blessings to you IrishMom !
Can I also ask people not to accuse each other of posts that were from other threads?
It is completely off topic,

This is only a thread for people who share very the conservative catholic beliefs mentioned, to reply if they can be a penpal ☺️

As stated Not a thread to knock about the Medjugorje validity,

That can be done in a new thread,

Just a thread for similar believing catholics to be my Penpal.

Just curious but why do you only want to talk to someone just like yourself? I mean your requirements are very strict. You can really broaden your horizons and learn a lot from speaking with people who have different points of view. No offense this just seems very strange.

Just wondering are there other catholics who share my viewpoints and that is not a bad thing to look for.
Traditional catholics often go to Latin Mass or Opus Dei prayer meetings, to meet with like minded catholics. Having an online social group for similar minded catholics is just another way of meeting like minded catholics.

I can already post here and chat with those from various catholic backgrounds. I can already do that.

As I said:
This is not a thread on the issues of Pre Vatican II differences, Medjugorje, the catholic charismatic renewal,… it is a thread for similar minded catholics to join a multiple user catholic forums mailbox private chat group.

Seperate threads can be made to debate above topics.

I hope you are able to find someone to assist you along your path.

In general, you may want to rephrase your list of demands. It is not the best way to open a dialogue with people. People may think that you are going to do that throughout the relationship.

I hope your way works. It is nice to see someone take the initiative to work together to grow closer to God.

Good Job!

No demands were made, just a statement of: these are my catholic points of view, Similar minded catholics are welcome to join a private chat group mailbox chat I hope to set up on catholic forums.

If it was a Latin Mass group, or catholic charismatic group, or Opus Dei group, Legion of Mary group, etc that would also imply a specific spirituality.
This is an online group I hope to set up for those of the spiritualities I have described in the first post.

This is not a thread for those to debate these catholic points of view.
That can be done in another few threads.

Perhaps you would want to put this thread in the “Traditional Catholicism” subforum? Since it seems like that’s the type of “penpal” you want.

Please don’t think that I’m being intentionally critical but your requirements seem a little stringent… I mean, although your preferences are very moral in and of themselves, the below neck covering in summer is a little restrictive, and declaring the gravity of watching basically any modern movie rules most of us out, too. Were are meant to love and welcome all our brethren, not just those who meet our exacting standards. In the interest of charity we should be open to brotherly correction, too, which is tough if we don’t meet in a little more open-minded way. Catholics, at the end of the day, do share the same faith and morals.

Of course, I do understand why you’d want this close knit group, I just think you’ll be a little hard pressed to find them with the current restrictions. Perhaps you should just say traditional Catholics?

Not a thread to debate Pre Vatican II Papal comments on Moral Fashion guidelines.

This is just a thread for people who agree with that spirituality of Pre Vatican II (of which my grandparents generation still hold to in my country, and which many of the saints such as Padre Pio supported).

It is a thread for catholics who agree with these catholic standingpoints to join a groupchat in the catholicforums mailbox that I am sertting up

-a seperate thread can be made for debating Pre Vatican II differences

the below neck covering in summer is a little restrictive,
Eh there are always guys out there who have some idea of “modesty” and want to meet other people who have the same idea. I often see them resorting to looking for pen pals because they just don’t run into those kinds of people on the street.
There was a locally known one in my hometown when I was in college there who for several years ran a personal ad in the local paper seeking a woman who had never worn any type of trousers or sleeveless anything.
There are probably other people out there who’d respond to these sorts of ads. To each their own.

I don’t believe I was debating anything to do with your interests, but I apologise if I spoke out of turn. Forgive my interference.
