Anything equivalent to Fatima in Islam?

Suppose you or a loved one had a terminal disease (no question that it’s terminal). One day you wake up and it’s cured. Does that bolster the faith you already have?
Some miracles are meant to be seen by many but there are miracles that happen every day that few people see. I don’t believe that all miracles are meant to draw a crowd.

Do you know of any miracles similiar to the Fatima miracle that are Islamic in nature?

Actually there was a ufo sighting ( that was later debunked but it didnt make the news) but the Mexican govt did support it originally.

So, the UFO citing was debunked. This apparition began almost 40 years ago and was never debunked.

As a better question who all looked at it besides the church and the govt. Was anyone else invited to investigate it? specifically skeptics of the scientist type?? Seems like a fantastic opportunity, since it seemed to happen for extended periods.

Yes. It was investigated by neutral sources. They cut the power to the city one night to see if it cut the light source, which did not happen. All of that information is contained on those websites.

Also, is it called a miracle? doesnt seem like one, wouldnt it be more of a sign or wonder??

If miracles are meant to draw a crowd why don’t they happen in the middle of Times Square in New York or Trafalgar Square in London - somewhere where there’s a crowd ready-made? The reason there are crowds at Fatima and Lourdes now is because people started flocking there well after the initial apparitions and miracles occurred.

And who’s to say anyone converted because of a miracle? Those who started as unbelievers like yourself stay as unbelievers even if it happens in front of their eyes.

Concerning the appearing of the virgin, i have once heared my uncle who used to work in the government , say that the government made an investigation and they have checked all houses near teh area, It took them some time before they found the guy who was having some sort of a projector or laser device of some sort , he was a copt Orthopdox christian.

He said the image would only appear at night

There was no mroe seeings after that and the issue was over. At least that is what i have been told .

I believe you or your uncle is making that up. If you review the reports and attempts to solve the apparitions, you will see that nothing of the sort was ever found. The apparitions continued even when the power was cut to the city.

Ask your uncle why the government carried out investigations and then issued this statement:

“Official investigations have been carried out with the result that it has been considered an undeniable fact that the Blessed Virgin Mary has been appearing on Zeitoun Church in a clear and bright luminous body seen by all present in front of the church, whether Christians or Moslems.”

Since Islam has appreciation for Mercy as a Divine attribute and also want to be in The Presence of The Merciful One , in eternity,one of the ways to look at the relevance of Miracles and Apparitions have been , to see the effects of the same …

It was only 500 years ago that in the continent of Americas , there was a culture of human sacrifice , even cannibalism , till the arrival of Catholic Missionaries …the Bl. Mother appeard there as Our Lady of Guadalupe( www.ewtn.com, doclib.-can get more info on all topics below )and now to see that same culture very much transformed!

Same for Fatima , in helping to bring Communism down with its plans for world dominion and reign of terror and killings ; true in Catholic/ Christain culture and in the lives of many , it has only become name sake now - and the road of Christainty is a ‘narrow and difficult one’ for our fallen nature , requiring true ongoing conversion - of love for enemies, surrender to a Merciful, yet Holy Lord … and Faith from wisdom ,not of this world … and freedom from human dignity that can be misused … yet worth all its challenges - as seen in the joy of the poor yet joyful nuns of A Mother Teresa …and ofcourse the eternal consequences !

The workings of the evil one too is still much in evidence in the lives of many as seen by presence of pornography, abortion, divorce and so on …yet , The Church giving them hope - to repent , ask The Lord of Mercy, to forgive and thus be free of the burden of gulit and shame - on the Merits of His Passion …thus in turn giving The Power to love and forgive , oneself and ones enemies …

Through the centuries, there have also been numerous heros/ saints who epitomise what Christian love and mercy is - A Pope JohnPaul11, who was asked to consecrate Russia , to help bring down the ravages of Communism ( and the same system that was instrumental in his attempted murder !),… who visited Ali Agca in the jail…

A Maximillian Kolbe who gave up his life in anonymity and yet in God’s wonderful providence, the whole incident brought to the world… the incidents regarding the Miraculous medal and the incorrupt saint Catherine Laboure

A Maria Goretti - poor , young, uneducated yet whom God chose to show His Merciful ways…( another incorrupt saint )who appeared to her assassin , in jail and helped him to convert …all now in heaven , loving us all and hoping/ praying that our lives too would be one of love and Mercy
