You mean those billionaires that fund your cause? Ok, hand, food, teeth… be careful.

Keep in mind the government is a (corporate) person. It contains an enormous concentration of wealth. somehow I think these people want to increase that concentration.

Let’s see, what have some of the richest people in the world brought us? Computers, desktop computers, laptop computers, smartphones, browsers, Facebook, Twitter.

Without these items, I think AOC would have gotten nowhere in her political career, or else had to work a huge amount more than she did.

I also think that without those innovations, there would be a lot more people doing much harder work.

Nancy Pelosi is laughing mockingly at AOC whole drinking Dom Perignon from a goblet, each cup poured forth from non-union waitstaff.

Billionaires certainly should not exist (or millionaires, for that matter). Unfortunately I doubt AOC really has any kind of power to abolish them, especially since she’s already voted in ways that contradicts her own slogans.

In addition to this, 85% of income taxes are paid by the top 20% of tax payers. Do away with them, and the problem of socialism eventually arises: they run out of other people’s money.
AOC is simply saying the poor must pay more taxes.

People like this always end up taxing wage earners. They’re easy to target and there are a lot more of them than there are wealthy people.

That’s a rather silly thing to say. I mean I personally think we could perhaps increase taxes on top earners, but what she wants to do is just beyond the pale. Our society is not perfect but I would much rather what we have as opposed to the socialist paradise of Venezuela, where people are starving to death and waiting in bread lines.

Millionaires shouldn’t exist? We are a one income large family. By no means wealthy. But when my wife retires and our house is paid off we will indeed be millionaires. As will almost everybody who owns land in a big city. That’s not immoral or something that shouldnt exist.

astounding

Won’t someone think of those wage earners taking home more than $10 million a year.

Yeah, last time taxes were that high the country fell apart. Wait a minute…

Many people in America wait in bread lines. I am in charge of one daily.
Who should own and run the large companies???
The employees of those companies.

Both the Repubs and the Dems will, which is why the people earning $10 mil will never be as high as all of these claims say they will be.

She’s literally affiliated with a party that advocates for the seizing of private property and the abolition of capitalism. I’m not going to agree with that for 2 reasons; a) the church stands against her kind of politics and the politics of the DSA and b) she’s more concerned with how people feel than with what is right. That is bound to take us down a road to hell.

Not astounding. Just facts. America has the most progressive tax system in the world. We also have a capitalist system that has led to the wealthiest society in history. Even our poor are not poor by global standards.
This great wealth has made it possible for the wealthiest among us to cover the vast amount of income taxes, while at the same time providing employment for great numbers of their fellow citizens.
What is astounding is that there are still Americans who would jettison this great system and replace it with an overtly disastrous substitute called socialism.
