CASTELLAMMARE DI STABIA, Italy (AP) — Maria Esposito was ready to give up. Wasted away at 42 kilos (92 pounds), she couldn’t bear another dose of chemotherapy to fight the Stage IV Burkitt’s lymphoma that had invaded her body while she was pregnant with her second child.

But as she and her family had done since she was diagnosed with the rare and aggressive form of cancer in July 2005, Esposito prayed to the man who had appeared to her husband in a dream as the only person who could save her: Pope Pius XII.

Esposito survived, cured after a single, six-week cycle of chemotherapy — a recovery that, she says, stunned her doctors and convinced her that the World War II-era pope had intervened with God to save her.

This is nice…but probably lacks true standards for the criteria for a miracle for cannonization…and thus should be treated with a healthy dose of skepticism.

Thank God.The Vatican will vet it-if there is the slightest possibility that this was as a result of medical intervention,it will be discounted…I’m sure there are quite a few authenticated miracles already but because of the lies about him beatification will be delayed.The Holy Father has hinted that this will take place regardless of the misplaced opposition.Read Rabbi Dalin’s book,“The Myth of Hitler’s Pope”,please before trotting out the same lame tired and discredited arguments.

Pope Pius XII should have his canonization process based on what the Church thinks of him, and not be impeded by the misplaced hatred of the Jews. Pope Pius XII hid hundreds if not thousands of Jews in Rome. He hid them in convents, and in some cases, he made false baptismal certificates for them.

I agree and I think Golda Meir would too.I would qualify that and say by the misplaced hatred of some very vocal Jews. They have made him a Golem(Bit of a stretch but more apropos than saying Boogeyman)
