Apostle Paul & Muslims, again.

I’m really not understanding this claim by some of the Christians here that if there is no mention of Paul in the Qur’an or the Sihah al-Sittah, that this means Muslims have no legs to stand on. Use of the Bible alone is enough to make such arguments. Take Romans 9:33 for example where Paul blatantly misquotes Isaiah 28:16 so as to legitimise his teachings of the law being bondage and Jesus’ death on the cross freed humanity from it.

As it is written: "See, I lay in Zion a stone, that causes men to stumble, and a rock that makes them fall; and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame." (Romans 9:33)

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "See, I lay in Zion a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed. (Isaiah 28:16)

Why is it ok for Paul to totally reverse the meanings of such verses to justify his beliefs about Jesus? Surely a stumbling stone that causes men to fall isn’t the same thing as a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation.

Paul isn’t directly quoting. He is paraphrasing and correlating many separate verses:

Isaias 8 14 And he shall be a sanctification to you.** But for a stone or stumbling, and for a rock of offence to the two houses of Israel**, for a snare and a ruin to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 15 And very many of them shall stumble and fall, and shall be broken in pieces, and shall be snared, and taken.

1 Peter 2
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set.

Psalms 118

165 Much peace have they that love thy law, and to them there is no stumbling block.

Luke 20
17 But he looking on them, said: What is this then that is written, The stone, which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? 18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone, shall be bruised: and upon whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

The key to understanding this passage is that God is our Rock:

2 Kings 22
2 And he said: The Lord is my rock, and my strength, and my saviour.

Therefore Paul is revealing, among other things, that Jesus is God.

Well from the sources someone cited earlier they say Paul was a disciple of Jesus.

Given that Paul didn’t become a Christian till much later, how do Moslems account for Paul becoming a follower of Christ?

It would have been after the time al-lah supposedly deceived people that Christ had died

come on, it was Paul who tricked people into thinking it was Jesus. Please think logically 😃

as to your question, i don’t know if they explain about Paul’s conversion or not…who knows maybe in one of these zillion hadith they got.

No. You’re missing the point.

Moslems claim
a) Paul was a disciple of Jesus (you provided this evidence yourself - unless I misread the Moslem texts)
and
b) Jesus was not crucified but taken up by al-lah.

BUT we know Paul didn’t become a disciple until after the event which we call the crucifixtion but they would describe as in point b)

Therefore I’m aksing Moslems how do they account for Paul being a disciple to a person/God whom he would not have met.

It is not that important to me as to what the Christians believe, the importance is only to the truth and that is as I understand and believe that Jesus did not got killed cursedly on Cross, he was saved from it miraculously and he migrated to India with Mary his mother and some confidents, he died a peaceful, natual and respectful death in Sirinagar, Kashmir, India and is buried there.That is the fulfillment of Sign of Jonah by Jesus.
Jesus’ Second Coming 1835-1908 has already taken place, so more important is to accept him and support him.

I think it is reasonable and not difficult to understand, only one needs to have wings of research and studies deep into the scriptures. It is altogether a different experience.

It is not important to me what Christians believe - that’s why I spam the threads. I’m only here to promote Islam. I can’t engage in debate because it requires logic.

Any Muslim has anything more to say about the apostle Paul? after all, we cannot hear you accuse him of everything, maybe global warming as well, yet give no evidence. I am looking for a logical discussion, will any Muslim contribute using history and logic?
