I don’t know about anyone else, but even though I have participated in this forum, I honestly believe without a doubt that Jesus finds all of this totally, and I mean totally, sickening.

Not only is promoting false beliefs wrong, but arguing about it is even worse. I have asked for His forgiveness for the part I have played in all of this. He is the judge and jury. We have no rights whatsoever.

These kinds of forums are an abomination to Him. and I am sorry I ever played a part; no matter how sincere I was concerning the faith.

I think we would all do more honour to Him by reading His Word and trusting in Him to perform what He promised. Amen?

By the way, I will not be back.

Respectful dialogue can be healthy. St. Peter exhorted us “always to have an answer for the hope that is within us…” (see 1 Peter 3:15).

(Not to say that all discussion on this forum is respectful dialogue, but the basic concept is not necessarily wrong).

God bless.
In Christ,
Tyler

I am sorry you feel this way, but you are wrong.
Bye.

Peace of the Lord be with you

Personally, I think these forums are great! It gives us lay Catholics the opportunity to correct the thousand’n’one misunderstandings peope have about the Church.

I also think that if you honestly believe that we are wrong, then you have an obligation to testify to your Truth, and continue to do so. Also, this should be done with humility, in realising that seeking God is indeed a journey of a lifetime, and that you can possibly be wrong in your preconceptions and prejudices. Please believe us when we say that we defend the Catholic belief not out of ignorance (or at least, it shouldn’t be), but out of our sincere desire to seek God further and to share our understanding of the Truth.

If I may also comment, I have found that many fundamentalist and anti-Catholic Christians that I have come across try to avoid rational discussion of any kind. As Catholics, we believe that faith and reason go hand in hand. I think sometimes the Sola Scriptura adherents tend to believe in one particular interpretation without questioning its origin, out of “faith”.

It is unfortunate that you have to leave, and that you won’t be open to being challenged in your belief (since you believe you already posess the absolute Truth). Anyhow, God is in charge. We’ll be praying for you.

God bless,
TTM

with all do respect, if the apostles felt that way how many christians would there be in the world. do you think as soon as an apostle showed up and started talking everyone started believing. if i had to guess i’d say there was some yelling going on, especially the ones that didn;t believe it. do you think the apostle just sat there and didn’t respond. i’d say they responded with vigorance. remember most of them were killed, so i bet the ran their mouth quite a bit. thankyou

While criticizing the rest of us for being judgemental, you appear to have been very severe in your judgement of us. I am glad to see that you know the mind of God well enough to make that call. Peace.

**Why? Is this because most of us here disagreed with you? **

I’m so sorry but you are totally mistaken on this score.

When you first entered this forum, you do well know that this is a **Catholic **forum, and since this is a Catholic forum, naturally, Catholic beliefs are promoted and defended here!

What else did you expect?

Gerry 🙂

I have been reading this persons post. It is no surprise he is a fallen away Catholic who has joined another faith. I think his purpose was to attack the faith and so I am glad he is gone. I think he got more than he bargained for here and this attack is just trying to get one more attack in before he runs away.

you have a valid point in many cases… your point is taken… i wish you peace… 👍

good luck, hope you return, and we as this forum are a work in progress… 👍

Good thing the anti-Catholic poster New Heart never butted heads with Marineboy. What would she think then? 😉

What a sad state to be filled with so much hatred for fellow Christians.

Hmm…which belielfs do you think are false?
And which ritghts are you talking about?
These kinds of forums are an abomination to Him.
Can you really justify that? It seems to me that you are trying to read Gods mind. I think thats a big no-no.

I think theres more to it than reading His word. What about the Church? What about faith and deeds? Are they not important to you?
By the way, I will not be back.
Thats a real shame. But if you feel you’re better off away from here then thats your right to choose.

i find it very sad that someone has found what goes on here appalling. i pray for you, new heart, that God might heal the hurt you’ve found, here or in your noncyber life.

personally, i’ve learned ALOT by coming to this forum. i’ve gotten to explain some things to people who are genuinely looking for answers. and i’ve GOTTEN some good answers, either by asking questions myself, or just by reading the replies that are given to others’ questions.

sure, there are a few members who tend to be rough around the edges, and need to learn a little more grace in their posts. but we ARE human. we are sinful, selfish, sad little people who are learning not to be that way. we’re going to hurt each other. but we can learn and grow from that hurt, we can allow God to USE that hurt for our good, and for His glory.

as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

sharpening hurts, i would think.

i hope God leads you into all truth and wisdom, new heart. i’m sorry He can’t do that here.

to the rest of you - i’m glad you’re here!

Oh, where in the Bible is this? " Do not post as the Pharisees do thinking that by vain repetitous posting and multiple usernames you will be taken seriously."

We should not assign God emotions and attributes he has not revealed.

new heart . some of what he promised he would do is done through us! I think he is about to be more miffed with you because of your complacency , than he is with our debate. after working a very mundane, meaningless job all day I look foreward to coming to this webpage, for something that is meaningful. yes Mr newlife I think God is more miffed with people working at where I work putting their life totally into car sales 50 60 hours a week, ripping customers off, than he is miffed with people discussing meaningfull things here. sorry everyone, but statements like newlife’s just amazeme. I just had to get that off my chest. I wont bore the rest of you with more. but if anyone interested in me elaboorting on what I meant, please private message me, Id be more than happy to answer questions, and discuss it with you. thankyou

I agree. To presume to know that God is not a fan of a messageboard occupied by a great number of many of His loyal subjects is at the height of arrogance. I guess she has God on direct dial and can get his thoughts about many things.

I believe New Heart felt she,he] that she was adding to the fire and was the cause of some strife which God tells us not to do. I truly do understand her feelings and I also dont know why Im still here.God is also dealing with Me on this issue also. Yes its great to share with each other but debate can sometimes cause strife.Sometime our hearts and motives are not right. We come here filled with PRIDE and do no justice to bring Glory to God. 😦 Just my two cents.God Bless

If a Protestant comes to a Catholic messageboard to condemn Catholics, how do you suggest Catholics react? I don’t see our reactions as hateful or mean. Are we supposed to say, “I see your point. Thank you for enlightening us in the ways of our multitude of errors.” Sorry. We’re going to react in the most loving way we can (at least, I know I try). But if you’re looking for some sort of consensus on spiritual truths, you won’t find it, because there’s no negotiating a spiritual truth.

Ps. 69,10: “Because zeal for your house consumes me, I am scorned by those who scorn you.”
