Apparitions of Mary

Hard to tell. God told Ezekiel to lie on his side for about a year, which sounds at least as peculiar. God also afflicted Nebuchadnezzar with madness and had him go out into the fields, eating grass, fingernails and hair growing long and untended, because he failed to glorify God. God acts in peculiar ways at times ;).

If these children were influenced by demons, I’d expect us to be hearing false doctrine from them, or dangerous doctrinal interpretations, or seeing a revulsion to holy objects. They love holy objects, though, and I have not heard anything that contradicts Orthodox Catholic teaching.

One of their strongest messages it to encourage people to partake of the Eucharist more, and to hold it in greater reverence.

Here’s a good response to this that I read on a website:
"Mary said 3 Popes and then it would be the end of our times. Pope John Paul II saw us through the Millenium and 911 which kicked off WWIII. Pope Benedict is the first Pope of the end of our times. Listen carefully to the words Mary uses. “There will be only three more Popes and then it will be the end of our times"Conchita is still alive and living in NY. She will anounce to the world the miracle 8 days in advance.I’m sorry it took so long to get back to your comment.
IN His Name, Stephen”

Jesus said that he had come to bring division, to set families against one another. There will always be those who don’t believe his signs when he reveals them. That doesn’t mean he should never reveal signs.

You may be right about Medjugorje. I’ll wait on the Church’s judgment before discarding it, myself.
My emphasis:

Dear brethren in Christ, I am sure you did not mean it as it was written, but feel I must take issue with the allegation that ‘Almighty God acts in peculiar ways at times!’

How can He? As the Perfection of all perfections His actions can only ever be perfect. But what I think you mean is ‘peculiar’ to our limited wisdom, knowledge and understanding.

Blessings and peace

Thank you Lief E. for your reply and you’ve given me much to think about. 👍 Michael Brown’s book ,“The Final Hour” shows me that that as it stands right now, we only have a handful of approved apparitions, and that much of what was predicted has not come to fruition. His book was written in 1992. I’m on my way to Mass and I will post more later this evening. God Bless.
I bet that there are a lot of real, godly private revelations or apparitions that go without being approved by the Church or publicized.

I don’t know what percentage of supposed prophecies are fakes, but I’ll certainly take your word for it that there are a lot of them.

Just suppose it has always been the goal of Satan through false apparitions and false visionaries to sow confusion and division in the minds of those who belong to the Catholic Church.
I bet that that does happen.

Right :).

I was blessed to have an apparation in my life. Don’t look for miracles for you will not see any. Only the faithful ones…beleive and you shall see but don’t beleive to see.

Just suppose it has always been the goal of Satan through false apparitions and false visionaries to sow confusion and division in the minds of those who belong to the Catholic Church. It’s like he’s creating a “chink” in the armor of the Church. What better way to literally bring about the demise of the Church than by the outward appearance of good fruits, conversions, and holy visionaries,( the visionaries may very well be Satan’s unknowing pawns) all the while lurking around and confusing good people and ultimately if Satan has his way, chasing them away from the Church. How many people will be led astray if Medj. and G. are declared false and these people decide they know better than the Church? Or that they want nothing to do with the Church? Is this what Satan wanted in the beginning? I think that’s a huge possibility, especially since the third secret of Fatima pertained to apostasy in the Church. (I think that was part of the third secret anyways) Satan is a slick one that old weasel.
You are right, and that is why discussing private unapproved revelations as you have done here is a violation of the forum rules.:tsktsk:

** guanophore**, she was just speculating about what evil might be achieved through false revelations. How does that constitute a private revelation?

** 8eofilos**, your comment makes a lot of sense to me.

8eofilos, my own mother had a revelation. In her whole life she only told me and my dad. The revelation brought her much comfort during a difficult time. I’m not a scoffer, I don’t despise prophets, but caution certainly is in order.

Yes caution, should be taken but believe your brother until it is revealed to you that he is lying. I personally didn’t see the virgin Mary but Her Mother St.Anna. And there was a cycle of things happening to me that brought me to Her as a miracle. My story was not used ever for making money or anything else that would benefit me. But spiritually it helped me knowing that the Mother of the Mother of God was going to help me!🙂

My mother didn’t see our Blessed Mother, an angel came to bring her words of comfort.

Yes, we have our guardian angel next to us the minute we are baptized. And if we are in need, they talk to us and if we open the eyes of our hearts we will see them too…
Bless You:)

guanophore, sorry but I’ve checked through this thread and my posts aren’t the only references to unapproved private revelations. I am a by the book kind of person, so I try to go by the rules, but I am very concerned for a church that I love deeply.

I agree with you, and I share your concern. What I am noticing is the contents of those revelations being posted and discussed. Perhaps I misunderstood the forum rule?

6.Do not post material from unapproved private revelations.
I will go away and mind my own business now. 😊

Elizabeth, Don’t be sorry of your post. You are not revealing anything personal. If they ban us because of a revalation that we had, I don’t really care. I wouldn’t expect anything better anyway from Catholic leaders because they critisize everything but their selves." Remember what Jesus said?<< Take the beam out of your eye and then go take out the straw from your brothers eye>>. The truth should be said always…and it is written in the Bible to praise the God and say out His miracles and to Glorify Him. If they forbid you to witness Gods work, then they are the ones who are acting as the high priests did when Jesus came and they crusified Him and tried to hide or distort all His miracles.
“Remember again what He said to Thomas?” The ones that need to see what you see to believe are just what Jesus dispises. Again, the priesthood does not assure a place in Heaven.
Have faith and don’t hide anything even if they mock you, because when your surroundings mock you, you are being blessed;) by God

Thanks 8eofilos. I’m not sure about posting on this site. It is a wonderful site with lots of info, and great topics, but I think it’s really hard to come in where most folks know each other and start posting like you’ve been friends for 10 years. Anyway, thanks for the kind words. 🙂

Feel free to see me as a friend that you know for 10 years. Isn’t that what Jesus did? He didn’t personally know anyone but still he called them and treated them like brothers…That is how I treat people that come to my life from the first second.!!!😉

You’re very kind! 👍
I think it is fair to say that we have meaningful personal private dialogue with Almighty GOD all of the tme so dialogue and encouters with the BVM may not be so rare.

I have a statue where Mass used to be celebrated every day. Everytime I pass it I feel a compelling need to kneel and pray the ‘Glory be’. I am sure it is all for God’s greater glory and praise. To Him be the glory for ever and ever amen

Blessings and peace.

It seems that non-Catholics have the most “trouble” with Marian beliefs of all Catholic beliefs.

What do you think of the apparitions of Mary (those approved by the CC)?

I’m Catholic, and I don’t believe in them, but I’m wondering what you guys (non-Catholics) think.

Do you believe that Mary, the other Saints, or maybe angels visit people and can be seen?
:yup:

Hi jfallaw,

As my Catholic faith deepens, so does my affection for Mary. My opinion is that those Hispanics are good Catholics, and you will learn from them.

I can’t imagine my house without a picture of Mary in it. In fact, I even have a marble carving of Mary in my garden! I never realised how many marian artifacts I have in (and around) my house until one day I looked closely and thought “oh no, I’ve become my parents”. My parents have pictures and statues of Mary (and others incl Jesus) all over their house. I wasn’t brainwashed into loving Mary; It just came naturally as I studied and researched and lived my Catholic faith.

You say you’ree “a relatively new Catholic”; It won’t be long before you see the hidden beauty in marian art and you’re house will be decorated with them. I’m willing to place a bet on that.

Back to the original subject; I’m fascinated with Fatima, Lourdes and Guadalupe. The others really don’t intrigue me at all.
You know what? You were right. Since being confirmed (with the name St. Maximilian Kolbe) and joining the Militia Immaculata founded by that good saint, and especially since I started wearing the Miraculous Medal, I have grown to better understand the role of our Mother in the Church.

Many thanks for the update. I hope the final days of this month of May, the month of Mary, can be especially used to help us obey His dying command… “Behold, your mother”.
