This one suggests to me that the ordinand(s) and bishop, while present at the consecration of the Sacred Species at the altar, in the old rite of ordination, and with both reciting the canon, the bishop out loud and the ordinand quietly, it doesn’t look like they both ‘lay on hands’, like I saw at a local Franciscan church once, in the new rite.
That’s if I understand consecration. I’ve not looked too closely at what’s physically happening at that moment in the Mass. I might be able to ask an old MC I know, tomorrow.
