Might the word “schism” be just an attention-getting word and not anything anyone is actually suggesting in a canonical sense? The article talks about people disagreeing with the archdiocese’ parochial school restructuring program and considering keeping schools open without any outside financial help. I may be missing something but I don’t know why an actual schism would be necessary to do this.
