"On April 21, Archbishop George Niederauer joined Catholic Charities CYO of San Francisco in honoring a pro-abortion, pro-homosexual rights politician – the late Leo T. McCarthy.

As chairman of the Catholic Charities board, Niederauer presented the organization’s 2007 Loaves and Fishes Awards to the honorees, including one for “Outstanding Service to the Community in dedication to the life and works of Leo T. McCarthy,” according to an April 23 Catholic Charities press release. "

I guess we can conclude that mendacity is the system we live in.

More apostates in bishop’s clothing, it seems.
Time for a novena to Saint Joseph to put an end to this filth.

As much as I find the pro-abortion movement abhorrent, I don’t necessarily oppose honoring someone who may have done many other things that were charitable. I think this is true especially after someone dies. This man is definitely going to be judged by God for his actions. I don’t have a problem with the Archbishop honoring him for work being done for their mutual community. Sometimes we have to work with those we disagree with on moral issues. Individual moral beliefs do not completely define us. I can see how some Catholics would be miffed by this, however. It is a sticky situation morally that may be best left alone by the Archbishop.

Actually, come to think of it, maybe it would be best for the Archbishop not to link his name with a pro-abortion politician when there are so many people who are in need of proper moral direction.
