This Archbishop has certainly gotten fed up with the bigoted coverage from the only major newspaper in his state.
The Most Rev. John G. Vlazny, archbishop of Portland since 1997, canceled his subscription to The Oregonian on Wednesday and asked Catholic pastoral ministers to do the same.
In a statement e-mailed to priests and lay ministers, Vlazny said a March 31 editorial was “the last straw.”

Please note that this news site is run by that newspaper.

Personally, I think if it is good for the Archbishop, it is good enough for all the laity. Oregon Catholics should consider following the Archbishops example.

The cartoon published in The Oregonian is full of lies. It is based on the premise that Pope B. XVI knew of the accusations against Fr.Murphy re: deaf children and turned a deaf ear. According to this cartoon Pope Benedict ignored the pleas of these deaf children/victims.
