In a brief lecture delivered October 25 at the United States Air Force Academy, Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver praised military service as a potentially ennobling vocation and called for a new Christian knighthood.

Very diplomatically put - as you’d expect from the Archbishop. He didn’t call it an ennobling vocation, but one potentially such, and he also called for “sacrificial service rooted in a living Catholic faith.” He didn’t say it already existed.

But, if his speech might move some of those he addressed to follow his ideal, then he did very well indeed.
