cannot understand the attention paid to; the admiration of; the almost hero worship afforded so many of the disobedient, dissident, reactionary, schismatic and/or malcontents on the face of this earth
Some problem people show up in SSPX, just as they show up in every other group. The exceptions don’t define the group.
It’s not fair to make a global comment.

Do you have a link to this? I’m intrigued.

If you’re referring to this one, if I recall correctly, it doesn’t delve too deep into the SSPX itself:

I have also never seen an explanation as to his apparent lack of judgement in the appointment of Bp Williamson,
The four bishops were chosen from different countries (Switzerland, France, Spain, and England). Also, in 1983 (5 years before), then-Fr. Williamson was instrumental in putting down the rebellion of “The Nine”, and resolving the split in the U.S. District:

He was made U.S. District Superior and was rector of St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary for many years.

I don’t agree with some of his more extreme ideas but read his letters when he was STAS rector. He wrote a farewell poem to his friends and benefactors upon leaving STAS. This is the only part I remember:

… Men,
You are by God’s design,
The head. Don’t wimp out!
Not only women are meant to be devout!

I don’t know why but that part stuck in my head.

He needs prayers just like the rest of us. Maybe one day he and the SSPX will reconcile.
