Looking forward to hearing what will be in this weekend’s homily. Our Archbishop was actually out in front of this and we received the cautionary letter several weeks ago. Our priest did mention the HHS Mandate and how it violates our Church’s deeply held teachings.
I pray our Priests and Bishops will stand strong

I signed the petition at Whitehouse.gov to rescind the Mandate. See responses below. I do not know who “Catholics United” are or whether they have any credibility. Assume the other organization is Sister Carol punting once again.

Note that NARAL and PP weighed in! As if they have anything to say about rescinding the mandate. Also note the reference to “Women’s Health.” We MUST fight this butchering of the term “women’s health.” The last thing a healthy body needs is the invasion of artificial hormones. How does this preserve “Women’s Health.” “Women’s HELL” is more like it

The Obama administration doesn’t care anything about women’s health. They are just using women’s health as a handle to gain power. This is a constitutional rights issue. We have the right to practice our religion whether they like it or not.

Yes thank you I have signed the above, composed my own letter as well. Have heard back from one of my Senators with the usual blather about “women’s health.”

The WhiteHouse.gov petition was promoted by our Respect Life committee. Apparantly if they get 25,000 signatures they MUST respond. I am not sure why we expected anything but more blather about “women’s health” but I guess the RLC thought at least the White House could see that there are many thousands of Americans who disagree with this mandate.

I have heard about the bill 1179 that is to protect the right of conscious. I think that we must help push through legislation that removes this mandate. There is no other way to assure that Obama and Sebelius will not lie again just as they lied about the Stupak Amendment. SPeaking of Bart Stupak is now openly speaking about his regrets that he believe Obama’s lies. And he’s a Democrat! Hopefully a few more will wake up and see what they have done to this country by voting in Obama and Obamacare.

You can find more by Googling simply “Democrat” and “hhs” together. They’re starting to realize that this isn’t a political party issue either. Rather it’s an historic over-reach by President Obama himself. He wants POWER and CONTROL and he hates people.
 
And if Obama wins another term you will likely end up with a very subversive supreme court.

Yeah.,…particularly BABY people. I have never seen such a militant pro-abortion politician. Even Clinton at least pretended not to be totally in the tank for the abortion lobby. Obama’s all in. I just hope this hand he’s drawn is aces and eights (not him personally his political career). He simply couldn’t believe this wasn’t a winner.

Believe me I’d vote for a potted plant over Obama. Worst president in the history of this country. What a disaster

You are right and I have to go to Reconciliation to help me with my absolute fury and disgust with this man. I will have to ask my Priest how to handle it and to help me have the strength to pray for something besides his defeat in November

I know exactly what you mean. I’m not sure that praying for his defeat is a bad thing, actually, because you’re praying it for the nation, and for people of God. It’s the rest of it. I watched him make his announcement today because I wanted to know what he said, but the thoughts I have toward him…you know what I mean.

There’s nothing wrong with praying for a better future for the country than the one we’d have with Obama, Lisa. Justifiable anger is fine as long as you use it to do good. Christ himself chastised the money-sellers and the old woman in scripture pestered the judge out of need (and because she was perturbed) until he relented.

There are a lot of people who need to be informed of how serious this is. There are clinics to be protested, and candidates to replace Obama to be supported, and so many prayers to be said.

Take heart. Turn your anger into determination. We’ll get through this okay one way or another.
