Breaking News: Live Action to Protest Planned Parenthood and ObamaCare TOMORROW on Steps of the Supreme Court
Live Action and other pro-life groups will take to the steps of the Supreme Court tomorrow morning at 8am to counter Planned Parenthood’s protest in support of ObamaCare. The Supreme Court began hearings on ObamaCare this morning and will continue throughout the week and most likely, through the coming months. On Friday, over 140 cities and towns held protests against ObamaCare and against the accompanying HHS mandate’s violations of religious liberty and life.
Live Action President Lila Rose will be joined by other groups including the Christian Defense Coalition and Students for Life of America, as they stand up for life, faith, and freedom. The groups will rally together at 8am on Tuesday March 27, 2012, on the steps of the Supreme Court.
Lila Rose said, “The Obama administration wants to force religious groups, companies and universities to purchase insurance coverage of abortifacient drugs that kill. This is our generation’s Roe v. Wade case. This case has the power to decide if the U.S. Government can force every person, including those of faith and conscience, to fund abortion, contraception, and abortion-causing drugs on demand.”
Planned Parenthood has called for people to rally outside of the Supreme Court tomorrow morning “to show their support for women’s health care and health care reform.” Ms. Rose said of this protest, “It’s no surprise that abortion giant Planned Parenthood is holding a rally in front of the Supreme Court tomorrow morning, to show their support for the HHS mandate and abortion-funding ObamaCare. Planned Parenthood and the abortion lobby stand to gain from these anti-life policies, and the religious charities and healthcare groups, forced to pay massive fines if they do not comply with ObamaCare, will be among the many who will lose.”
She continued, “Despite Planned Parenthood’s deceptive tactics and aggressive lobbying for tax funded abortion, Americans know that abortion is anything but healthcare. Abortion is a grave human rights abuse against the most vulnerable among us.”

Obama Refuted by CDC Report: Not True 99% of Women Have Used Contraceptives–13.9% Have Never Had Sex
The definitive study of contraception use in the United States–which was produced by the U.S. government’s National Center for Health Statistics and published by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention–refutes the claim President Barack Obama made in a White House briefing on Feb. 10 that “nearly 99 percent of all women” have used contraception. In fact, according to the study
–which looked at the contraception use of American women between the ages of 15 and 44–13.9 percent had never had heterosexual intercourse, period.

Also, according to the study, 38.2 percent of American women age 15-44 said they did not currently use contraception.

Colson: What the media doesn’t want you to know: Americans hate the HHS mandate

Cardinal Dolon is on O’reilly Factor tonight

The Supreme Court’s conservative justices said Wednesday they are prepared to strike down President Obama’s healthcare law entirely.
Picking up where they left off Tuesday, the conservatives said they thought a decision striking down the law’s controversial individual mandate to purchase health insurance means the whole statute should fall with it.
The court’s conservatives sounded as though they had determined for themselves that the 2,700-page measure must be declared unconstitutional.
“One way or another, Congress will have to revisit it in toto,” said Justice Antonin Scalia.
Agreeing, Justice Anthony Kennedy said it would be an “extreme proposition” to allow the various insurance regulations to stand after the mandate was struck down.

Thanks for posting this article. It explains a lot about why the Obama administration is pushing this agenda.

From the article:
“Cram-down”is a perfect term for HHS’s policy, however. The whole point, it seems, is to override religious objections to such a policy to the maximum extent politically possible, out of an intense ideological commitment to contraception and abortion as “preventive health care.” It is vital, the ideologues say, to prevail over religious objections precisely in order to advance, and permanently entrench, this particular ideology and, further, to **vindicate the power of government to impose such policies on everyone. **Religious objections must be overcome, in part for the sake of overcoming religious objections.
Bolding mine.

It’s about power.

“Hillary Clinton’s attacking, but what’s she not telling you about her health care plan? It forces everyone to buy insurance, even if you can’t afford it, and you pay a penalty if you don’t.” ~ Barack Obama, April 2008

Let’s never forget the way the healthcare bill was passed. Despite the majority voice of the people, our legislators ignored us, and it was not a bi-partisan measure. Please remember also, the size of Nancy’s gavel as they entered chambers to pass this abomination of a law - indeed, it was crammed down our throats and the size of the gavel was symbolic of the power they wanted to wield.

The HHS mandate will be defeated

By Fr. Frank Pavone
Where do we go from here? May I recommend three things:
a) The prayer campaign that accompanied these nationwide rallies must continue. The bishops have designated March 30 as a special day of prayer for religious freedom, and we urge you to join the ongoing novena we have prepared at PrayerCampaign.org
. On March 30 and beyond, let’s offer these prayers in every parish, school, and family!

b) Nine lawsuits, including the one launched by Priests for Life, have been filed against this unconstitutional mandate. Inform yourself of the arguments in these cases, follow and publicize their progress, and support them. Learn about these lawsuits here and sign our “Citizens’ Amicus Brief” at RepealTheAbortionMandate.com.

c) Join upcoming educational efforts, webcasts, lobbying efforts, and rallies. This week, for instance, the Supreme Court is hearing arguments against Obamacare, and Priests for Life is helping to organize prayer vigils and press conferences at the Court through the Capitol Hill effort we co-sponsor called the National Pro-life Center (NationalProLifeCenter.org)!

It looks like the Church’s prayers have been answered and that it has been rescued from a religious persecution in which it had a helping hand.

The interesting question now is: what did the bishops learn from this?

Because even if Obamacare is struck down in it’s entirety, the issue is not going away.

One trivial thought that I have not seen elsewhere: I wonder if the Left/Obama/Kathleen Sebelius didn’t shoot themselves in the backside when they decided to apply a chainsaw to the religious liberty of the Catholic hospitals, etc. That episode, I think, brought out in sharp relief the unprecedented degree of coercion inexorably inherent in Obamacare, the eagerness with which the Left employs it, and the thoughtlessness with which the Left is willing to destroy the institutions of civil society as they pursue their political goals. They really believe that people of religious faith are simpletons standing in the way of ever-greater individual dependence upon Leviathan. And so I have a sense — but no direct evidence — that Kennedy and perhaps Roberts may have recoiled in horror from the prospect of Obamacare more deeply than otherwise might have been the case, as they were confronted with the prospective wholesale descent into economic fascism that is the very essence of Obamacare.

Take this to heart as we honor the bishops plea today for a national day of prayer, fasting and abstinence for religious freedom:
“Human evil and ignorance simply cannot thwart the divine plan of salvation and redemption,” he added.
“There is no reason, then, to give in to the despotism of evil” the Pope said. “Let us instead ask the risen Lord to manifest his power in our weakness and need.”

I suspect they learned not a wit. In reading the last diocesan newspaper I read an article
calling for the repeal of the mandate while in another large article calling for “universal healthcare”. I guess it hasnt yet occured to them that a even more govt controlled solution like “universal healthcare” would just give the govt more power to trample over our
rights. These liberal Bishops seem just as bright as Nancy Pelosi when she replied to the suggestion that that Obamacare may be unconstitutional: “Are you serious?!”

I try not to be so cynical, but Lord knows, it’s hard.
